本発明は、主として施錠装置を有しないマンホ
ールの蓋に取付ける施錠装置に関するものであ

施錠装置が取付けてないのは、道路などに設置さ
れるため、耐荷重強度が強く、価額が安価である
ことが要求され、主として鋳鉄で製造されるので
蓋の重量が重く、かつ人通りのある場所に設けら
れているので地下埋設物の管理者以外には簡単に
開閉できなかつたためである。然し乍ら、近時地
下埋設物には、従来の上下水道、都市ガスばかり
でなく、電気配線、通信回線など産業活動に重要
な役割りをもつ施設が埋設されるようになり、こ
れらの施設の点検用のマンホールが各所に設けら
れるが、これらの蓋に施錠装置を取付けることが
要望されるようになり、蓋および受枠に取付けら
れる施錠装置が多く提案され、製作されるように
なつてきた。然し乍ら、蓋および受枠は前述の如
く鋳鉄で製造されており、蓋の裏面に突出するよ
う取付けられたり、複雑な施錠機構のものは破損
し易すく、開閉作業が面倒であるので簡単な破損
し難い機構のものが主として取付けられている
が、この場合錠は共通の簡単なものとなり、容易
に開けられる心配があり、かつ、錠付の蓋は工程
が増し、コスト高となることはさけられなかつ
た。そのため、従来より製造されている無錠のマ
ンホール蓋に必要に応じ取付けられる施錠装置の
開発が要望され、同時に既設のマンホール蓋にも
取付けられるものが要望されるようになつてき

ので、本発明による施錠装置は、従来より使用さ
れている南京錠を用いるもので、第6図に示す如
くマンホールの蓋の嵌合する受枠に取り付け、係
止片をマンホールの蓋上に突出密着させたときに
係止片を南京錠により固定し施錠するようにした
もので、係止片は南京錠を解錠し取り外づすこと
により蓋の上面より離脱させ蓋を開閉できるよう
にし、南京錠は施錠時には、施錠装置内に格納さ
