Abstract

PURPOSE:To secure and simplify connector connection by forming a mounting member which is exactly mounted on a connector housing and extruded into a mounting hole of a substrate to be fitted at a projecting part. CONSTITUTION:A mounting member 6 slides to engage on a side of a connector 5, and a protrusion projecting part 63 of the mounting member 6 is projected into a mounting hole 22 of a substrate 2, so that the connector 5 is connected with the substrate 2 through the mounting member 6. The connector 5 slides at its projecting part 53 so as to be exactly mounted on the mounting member 6. A sliding piece 58 of the projecting part 53 slides on a sliding groove 68 of the mounting member 6 and it is fixed by a positioning means 54 which is formed at a tip part of the member 6 and shaped in an arrowhead. This composition simplifies a connection process and it enables the connection of the mounting member 6 to the connector 5 before/after the mounting member 6 is fitted to the substrate 2 and also it is available to checking the connection process before soldering.

(Prior Art) In recent years, with the miniaturization and diversification of electronic devices, there has been a demand for higher density and automatic mounting of various electronic components on printed circuit boards. As an electrical connector to meet this demand, a Surf Ace mount type electrical connector shown in FIG. 6 of the accompanying drawings has been proposed and used. In this type of electrical connector, connecting parts of contacts are arranged and soldered to circuits (conductive pads) provided on both sides of a board, for example. FIG. 6 is a perspective view showing a conventional example of this type of Surf Eighth mount type electrical connector. As shown in FIG. A contact 15 is held in each of the child holding holes 11, and a groove 13 is provided at the rear (right side in the figure) of the housing 10 to receive an edge of the board 2.
A board mounting portion 12 is provided, and a through hole 14 for a screw 16 is provided in this mounting portion 12. The connecting portions 15' of the contacts 15 protrude from the rear of the housing 10 in two rows so as to sandwich the board 2 from both sides. In order to connect the Surf Ace mount electrical connector 1 constructed in this way to the board 2, the groove 13 of the housing 10 is inserted toward the edge of the board 2. Then, align the through hole 14 of the mounting portion 12 with the through hole 22 of the board, insert the screw 16 here, and then tighten with the nut 17 from below. Furthermore, contact 1
5 and the conductive pads 21 provided on the upper and lower surfaces of the substrate 2 are soldered. Such a Surf Ace mount type electrical connector is small in size and is excellent in dealing with high density.

The pitch between the connecting parts 15' of the contacts 15 (that is, the pitch of the conductive pads 21 on the board) is as follows:
As the density tends to increase, the clearance between the screw and the mounting hole is smaller than the above-mentioned pitch when the high-density device is attached to the board by screws and nuts. and the connecting part 15' becomes large.
If the soldering pads 21 are misaligned, there is a risk that adjacent conductive pads may be short-circuited.

After inserting the electrical connector 1 into the board 2, the work of inserting screws and tightening nuts is required, and furthermore, soldering is required afterwards, which requires a large number of assembly steps, and the number of parts is large, resulting in an expensive product.

[Scope of Claims] 1. A board connection mechanism of a surface mount type electrical connector in which a connecting portion of a contact disposed in an insulating housing contacts a conductor surface on a board surface for electrical connection, wherein the insulating housing at least one side surface of the housing is provided with an arm portion extending from the side surface, and a mounting member having an opening for slidably receiving the arm portion of the housing, and the arm portion and the mounting member are mutually connected to each other. A surf ace mount type characterized in that the mounting member has a positioning means that locks each other at a predetermined receiving position, and the mounting member is provided with a push-in portion that is pushed into a mounting hole drilled in the board. Electrical connector board connection mechanism. 2. The positioning means is characterized by an arrowhead formed at the tip of the arm that locks onto the tip edge of the opening of the mounting member when the arm is inserted into the opening of the mounting member to a predetermined position. A board connection mechanism for a Surf Ace mount type electrical connector according to claim 1. 3. A patent claim characterized in that the mounting member has a slit, and the width of the slit expands slightly when the arm portion is inserted into the opening of the mounting member to a predetermined position. A board connection mechanism of the Surf Eighth mount type electrical connector according to item 1. 4. A board connection mechanism for a surface mount type electrical connector in which a connection part of a contact disposed in an insulating housing comes into contact with a conductor surface on a board surface for electrical connection, wherein at least one of the insulating housings A side surface is provided with an arm portion extending from the side surface, and a mounting member having an opening for slidably receiving the arm portion of the housing, and the arm portion and the mounting member are mutually in a predetermined receiving position. In the method for connecting an object to a board, the mounting member has a positioning means that locks each other with each other, and the mounting member is provided with a push-in portion that is pushed into a mounting hole bored in the board. a first step of temporarily inserting the arm portion of the housing into the housing, and a second step of temporarily fixing the mounting member to the board by inserting the push-in protrusion of the mounting member into which the arm portion has been temporarily inserted into the mounting hole of the board. By further sliding and inserting the arm portion of the housing into the opening of the mounting member temporarily fixed to the board, the housing and the mounting member and the mounting member and the board are firmly fixed, and the contactor is fixed firmly. A method for connecting a board connecting mechanism of a surface mount type electrical connector, comprising: a third step in which the connecting part comes into contact with a conductor on the board surface to enable soldering; 5. A board connection mechanism for a surface mount type electrical connector in which a connection part of a contact disposed in an insulating housing comes into contact with a conductor surface on a board surface for electrical connection, wherein at least one of the insulating housings an arm portion extending from the side surface;
a mounting member formed with an opening for slidably receiving the arm portion of the housing; the arm portion and the mounting member have positioning means for locking each other at a predetermined receiving position; is a method for connecting an object to a board, in which a push-in part is provided that is pushed into a mounting hole drilled in the board, and the first step is to insert the push-in protrusion of the mounting member into the mounting hole of the board and temporarily fix it. a step of slidingly inserting the arm portion of the housing into the opening of the mounting member temporarily fixed to the board, thereby firmly fixing the housing and the mounting member and the mounting member and the board, and connecting the contacts; A method for connecting a connection mechanism of a Surf Ace mount type electrical connector, comprising: a second step of contacting a conductor on a board surface to enable soldering;
