(Prior Art) Electronic musical instruments that use exhaled air to control the sound and use strain gauges as sensors have long existed, but conventional instruments have a plate spring in contact with a diaphragm that receives exhaled air. Since the deflection of the spring was detected using a strain gauge, it was structurally complex, and changes in exhaled air could not be directly felt by the strain gauge, resulting in a poor blowing feel.

(Technical Problem) The present invention is intended to solve the above-mentioned problem, and its purpose is to enable direct detection of changes in exhalation using a strain gauge, thereby making it possible to use a strain gauge that provides a good blowing feel. An object of the present invention is to provide an electronic musical instrument with a reed breath sensor.

(Technical Means) In order to achieve the above object, the present inventor combined a strain gauge with a reed used in an accordion, a keyboard harmonica, etc., electrically picks up the vibration, and uses the signal to control the output of an electronic musical instrument. I came up with this idea.

That is, the present invention provides a reed that vibrates with exhaled breath;
This is an electronic musical instrument with a reed breath sensor that uses a strain gauge that detects the amount of deflection and converts it into an electrical signal, a breath input processing circuit, and a VCA that inputs the output and controls the analog signal from the instrument itself.

(Operation of the invention) When the exhalation of the performer is input from the exhalation input section,
The reed vibrates due to the exhaled air flow, and the vibrations are detected by a strain gauge and converted into an electrical signal.
This signal is processed by the exhalation input processing circuit to create the voltage range necessary for output control of the electronic musical instrument, and converts the analog signal from the instrument into a VCA (Voltage Controlled
Amplifier), and its output is heard as performance sound via an external output device.

(Example) This will be explained with reference to the illustrated example. 1 is an exhalation input section, 2 is a lead port, 3 is a lead, 4 is a strain gauge attached thereto, and 5 is a signal line. The reed 3 can be similar to those used in reed instruments such as keyboard harmonicas and accordions, and the tip is fixed at the base so that it can freely vibrate, and the strain gauge 4 is attached to the base. . If it is necessary to muffle the vibration noise, a muffler 6 can be attached to the reed 3 as shown in FIG. 2.

In FIG. 2, 7 is a rectifier circuit, and 8 is an amplifier circuit, which together with the exhalation input section 1 constitute an exhalation input processing circuit 9. Reference numeral 10 denotes a circuit on the side of the main body of the musical instrument, which includes a keyboard 11, a tone generator synthesizer 12, a digital-to-analog converter 13, and an amplifier circuit 14, and outputs an analog signal to the VCA 15. 16 is an amplifier of external output device 17 driven by the output of VCA 15; 18
is a speaker.

(Effects of the Invention) Since the present invention is constructed and operates as described above, changes in the strength of exhalation are detected by the reed that can freely vibrate, and as a result, it is possible to detect changes in the strength of exhalation using a reed that can freely vibrate. It is possible to detect changes in exhaled air over a wide range that cannot be expected with conventional methods. Therefore, it is possible to apply a wide range of changes to the sound played by the instrument itself, and the range and timing at which exhaled changes are reflected in the sound are also good. This allows you to enjoy playing with a sense of wind.
