As shown in FIG. 2, a plurality of contacts 1 thus formed are inserted into an insulating member 2 for a connector made of synthetic resin to form a connector. still,
FIG. 2 is a sectional view of a main part showing a state in which the pitch on the contact part 11 side and the pitch on the connection part 12 side are changed, and the same parts as in the previous figure are given the same reference numerals.

As can be seen in the figure, the pitch of the contact portion 11, that is, the gap B between 11a and 11b is the pitch corresponding to a pair of plugs (not shown), and the pitch of the connection portion 12, that is, the gap A between 12a and 12b, is the pitch that corresponds to the pair of plugs (not shown) that should be connected. The pitch is compatible with flat cables. In this way, since the pitch B of the contact portion 11 and the pitch A of the connection portion 12 are different in size, the bent connecting piece 13 is bent into a predetermined shape 13a to 13.
They are each deformed as shown in f and fitted into holes defined in the insulating member 2.

By the way, in conventional connectors, the connection part and the contact part are located on the same line, so the contact height is high and the connector is large. In addition, shaping the connecting piece 13 due to pitch change takes a lot of time. There were drawbacks such as the need for skill.

This purpose is to provide a connector in which a plurality of contacts each having a contact portion and a connection portion integrally formed through a connecting piece are inserted into corresponding holes in an insulating member.
The contact is connected by the connecting piece so that the contact part is displaced from the connection part so that both parts are located on parallel lines, and the hole of the insulating member is aligned with the pitch of the contact part accommodation position and the connection part. The accommodation positions are formed to have different pitches, and when the contact is inserted into the hole, at least one part of the connecting piece of the contact is bent, and the contact part is centered about the axis of the connection part. This can be achieved by a connector in which the pitch between the contact portions and the connecting portions of each contact can be varied by rotating in the circumferential direction, and a method for manufacturing the same.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view for explaining one embodiment of the present invention, in which 3 is a contact, 31 is a contact portion with a mating plug, 32 is a connection portion to be connected to a flat cable, and 33 is a contact portion. This is a bending connection piece whose pitch can be easily changed in the direction of rotation about 31. This contact 3 is connected by a connecting piece 33 so that the contact part 31 is displaced from the connection part 32 and both parts are located on parallel lines.
If the pitch between the contact portions 31 of each contact is to be changed, this can be accomplished simply and easily by bending the contact portions 31 at an angle Q with the connecting piece 33 around the axis of the connection portion 32.

In addition, the bending process of the connecting piece 33 is performed on the contact 3.
The hole in the insulating member into which the contact 3 will be inserted is prepared in advance.
The connecting piece 33 of the contact 3 is formed so that it is automatically bent at an angle Q when the contact part 31 and the connecting part 32 are inserted, or the connecting piece 33 of the contact 3 is formed in advance before insertion into the hole of the insulating member. This is done by bending at an angle Q.

FIG. 5 is a plan view showing a connector in which a contact according to the present invention is mounted on an insulating member, where a is a plan view of a connector without a rotation stopper, and b is a plan view of a connector with a rotation stopper. In the plan view, parts that are equivalent to those in the previous figure are given the same reference numerals. 21 is a hole into which the contact part 31 of the contact 3 is inserted; 22 is a groove defining a part of the connection part 32 and the bent connecting piece 33; 23 is a hole for fixing a rotation stopper provided around the circumference of the contact part insertion hole 21; It is a groove where

As can be seen in the figure, a is a contact 3 mounted with no rotation stopper in the embodiment. Therefore, since the contact portion 31 moves when the bending connection piece 33 is bent to match the defined groove, it is clearly seen that the slit provided in the contact portion 31 is not in a fixed position. On the other hand, b is a contact 4 equipped with a detent 411. In this case, the detent 411 is fixed in the detent groove 23 of the insulating member 2, and the connecting piece 43 is folded into the groove 22 defined by the groove 23. Since the contact portion 41 is inserted into the holder, the contact portion 41 does not move. Further, even when the detent 511 is bitten into the insulating member 2, the contact portion 51 does not move as described above.

Note that the detent 411 has been described above with respect to an embodiment in which protrusions are provided on both sides of the upper end support portion of the contact portion 41, but the protrusion may be provided on only one side without a groove, or the slit of the contact portion may be slightly bent to form an insulating member. It doesn't matter what method you use, such as digging it in.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, the height of the contacts is low, making it possible to downsize the connector, and the pitch can be easily and easily varied in the direction of rotation around the contact portion, thereby improving work efficiency. It can be expected to improve the performance, reduce the number of parts, and further downsize, and can be applied to various connectors with great effect.
