BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Tatami mats consist of a tatami face, a tatami edge, and a tatami floor. Tatami mats are made by weaving I or Shichitoui as the weft and hemp threads such as Taima, Chiyoma, Bouma, etc. as the warp. Cloths made of cotton, linen, silk, etc. are used for the tatami edges, and colored paper of the same color lined with paper or newspaper is used as the base for the edges. Tatami flooring is made by stacking straw alternately vertically and horizontally, pressing it and pricking it with countless numbers of hemp threads.

Of these, the tatami mat is the most noticeable because it appears on the surface of the tatami. Conventionally, the edges of the tatami mat are treated to prevent fraying when weaving, cut to make half tatami mats and treated to prevent fraying, diagonal cutting and fraying. Various processes such as fixing, and repair of scratches, cuts, punctures, rot, etc., are carried out by skilled craftsmen, such as tying warp hemp threads, basting near the cut points with hemp thread, and tatami facing using an awl. This was done by applying methods such as pressing down and turning the paper inside out.

First, when weaving tatami mats, in order to prevent the wefts from fraying one after another from the edges of the woven tatami mats, when one tatami mat's worth of tatami mats is woven,
It was necessary to tie the hemp threads coming out from the ends, and although this process of tying the hemp threads would not be a problem if done by an automatic machine, it would be very time-consuming if done by hand.

Especially when making a half-tatami mat from a one-tatami mat,
After cutting to the specified dimensions, several centimeters of the weft from the ends must be removed before tying the warp yarn, which requires a lot of time and effort to remove the weft and tie the hemp yarn.
There was a disadvantage in that it was not possible to take two half-tatami mats from one tatami mat, and the irregular portions were wasted.

In addition, when cutting the tatami mats diagonally, not only the hemp threads, which are the warp threads, are cut, but it is also impossible to remove the ``a'' like when making the half-tatami tatami mats mentioned above. It was necessary to either bast it to prevent it from fraying, or to place the tatami cover on the tatami floor in advance and then sew the tatami cover near the cut side to the tatami floor with hemp thread along the cut surface, but these methods cost a lot of money. In addition to being time-consuming, even if the cut surface is finally covered with a tatami edge to produce a tatami, the edges of the tatami surface may fray during use. Another problem was that the diagonal cutting of the tatami surface using a tatami knife could not be done smoothly without skill.

Furthermore, when repairing scratches, cuts, punctures, etc. on tatami mats caused by moving furniture or other causes, remove the tatami mat from the tatami floor, apply duct tape to the wound, and then re-tatify the tatami mat with the duct tape side facing out. However, this process is very time-consuming and increases repair costs, and even if repairs are done, the damaged areas will gradually spread. Ta. In addition, in the case of cuts, etc., a method of inserting duct tape through the cut and pasting it on the back side of the tatami mat is also adopted, but it is not easy to insert sticky duct tape through the cut, and even if you do this, Likewise, the damage was bound to spread over time.

Furthermore, burnt spots on the tatami surface caused by smoking,
If the tatami mats were rotten due to water leakage, etc., the tatami mats had to be turned over or replaced, and no effective means of partial repair could be found.

Means for Solving the Problems The present invention is based on the following: ``When processing or repairing tatami mats, a cyanoacrylate-based instant adhesive is applied to areas where fraying is likely to occur, such as woven edges, cut edges, and around damaged areas. A method for processing and repairing tatami mats characterized by impregnation and hardening.'' This method solved the conventional problems mentioned above at once.

Cyanoacrylate-based instant adhesives have excellent permeability into the weft (I) and warp (hemp) threads, so even if you impregnate only one side of the tatami mat, it will immediately penetrate to the other side, allowing for a short time. When cured, it adheres the fibers and hemp threads and effectively prevents them from becoming tangled. Therefore, there is no need to perform knotting on the warp threads or basting near the cut portion of the tatami face. Moreover, since the impregnated and cured areas do not change in texture or appearance, they do not pose any practical problems. Note that the impregnated and hardened areas become slightly hard, but since these are often the edges of the tatami mat, this does not pose any problem, and is preferable because it facilitates the work of attaching the tatami edges and the work of laying the tatami tightly on the floorboards. . When repairing damaged areas on tatami mats, it not only prevents fraying, but also
This is advantageous because the area around the damaged area is strengthened.

It is desirable that the cyanoacrylate instant adhesive used as described above has a relatively low viscosity of 2000 cps/25° C. or less. The viscosity
If the temperature exceeds 2000cps/25℃, the permeability to the fibers and hemp threads will be poor, and after impregnating and curing, a shiny gloss will appear on the surface of the tatami mat, which will spoil the unique calm texture of tatami mats. . A particularly preferred viscosity range is 300 cps/25°C or less.

Cutting in the weft direction In Fig. 1, line B-B indicates the case where the tatami surface is cut in the weft direction. Normally, it would be necessary to untie the cutting point A1 by an appropriate width and tie the hemp thread 2 into a knot, but in the present invention, as shown by the scattered dots b, along the cutting line B-B. By impregnating and curing a cyanoacrylate instant adhesive in a width of several centimeters, there is no need to tie the hemp thread 2 to prevent fraying. In addition, 1
Each time we weave a tatami cover, we do not tie the hemp threads at the end, but weave a long tatami cover continuously.
It becomes possible to cut to the required length when necessary. Note that impregnation with the cyanoacrylate instant adhesive may be performed either before or after cutting in the weft direction. Figure 2 shows a partial plan view when the above adhesive impregnation is performed before cutting in the weft direction. It is advisable to do this on both sides of the line you are going to try.

Diagonal Cutting In Figure 1, the line C-C indicates the case where the tatami face is cut diagonally. Since the hemp thread 2, which is the warp thread, is cut, normally it would be necessary to perform basting with hemp thread along the cutting line C-C to prevent it from fraying, but in the present invention, it is indicated by the dots c. As described above, by impregnating and curing a cyanoacrylate instant adhesive in a width of several centimeters along the cutting line C-C, the basting work to prevent fraying can be omitted. Note that impregnation with the cyanoacrylate instant adhesive may be performed either before or after cutting in the diagonal direction. Figure 3 shows a partial plan view when the adhesive impregnation is performed before diagonal cutting. It is desirable to do this on both sides of the line.

Repairs In Figure 1, D indicates damage such as scratches or puncture wounds. If the damaged area is small, as shown by the dots d, by impregnating and curing the cyanoacrylate instant adhesive over the damaged area and its surroundings, the tatami surface can be repaired immediately. If the damaged area is large, apply duct tape with an area larger than the area of the damaged area from the back of the damaged area, and apply cyanoacrylate instant adhesive from the front (or from the back before applying the duct tape) to the damaged area and its surroundings. By impregnating and curing it, the tatami surface can be repaired.

Effects of the Invention In the present invention, the cyanoacrylate instant adhesive has excellent permeability into the weft and warp threads, so even if it is impregnated from only one side of the tatami surface, it will immediately penetrate inside and on the other side. It penetrates into the surface and hardens in a short period of time (usually several seconds to several tens of seconds), adhering the fibers and hemp threads, so that the impregnated and hardened areas no longer fray. Therefore, the process of tying the hemp threads serving as the warp threads and the basting process of the tatami surface near the cutting part itself are not necessary.
