When microwaves are irradiated onto a material, internal heat generation occurs within the material if the material is made of water or other material with large dielectric loss. If the irradiated substance is under a pressurized atmosphere, for example 2 to 3 kg/cm 2 , the heating temperature can be raised to 120 to 130° C., which is sufficient to kill heat-resistant spore bacteria.

However, even if the packaging material is simply irradiated with microwaves, the temperature of the packaging material will hardly rise because the dielectric loss of the packaging material is generally very small.

The present invention utilizes the characteristics of microwaves to form a coating of a sterilizing chemical solution containing an electrolyte on packaging materials, which causes the packaging material to have a very large dielectric loss, and then irradiates the packaging material with microwaves. Sterilization is achieved through the combined effect of high-temperature, single-time sterilization in addition to the sterilization effect of sterilizing agents.

本発明を一実施例により詳細に説明する。 The present invention will be explained in detail by way of an example.

The irradiation chamber 7 maintains a constant atmospheric pressure, preferably 2 to 3 kg/kg, through a pressurized air supply port 8 and a pressure adjustment port 9.
The packaging material 1 is pressurized to 2450 MHz and is agitated by a stirrer 11 and irradiated with microwaves of 2450 MHz emitted through a microwave oscillator 10. Furthermore, the packaging material 1 is made to meander by guide rolls 12, and is structured to be irradiated with microwaves uniformly and to a level that can raise the temperature sufficiently for sterilization.

Packaging material 1 is heated to 120~
After being heated to 130° C. and completely sterilized due to the combined effect of the sterilizing effect of the chemicals, compressed air is supplied from the nozzle 13, and then passes through the pressurizing chamber 14 and enters the cooling and drying chamber 15. In the cooling drying chamber 15, sterile air is supplied through the nozzle 16 and the exhaust port 1
The packaging material 1 is discharged from the system through a discharge port 19 after being completely cooled and dried.

Next, pre-pack B.Subtilis on both sides of the packaging material.
A spore suspension of ATCC9466 was sprayed to give a bacterial count of 10 4 /100 cm 2 on the paper surface and the polyethylene surface, respectively. After this rolled packaging material was passed through the apparatus shown in Figure 1, it was homogenized including the paper and polyethylene surfaces of the packaging material, and the number of bacteria per 100 cm 2 was measured, and no bacteria were detected at all.
