A lower cloth feed roller 6 is provided. And the above-mentioned feed roller 5,
A second upper fabric tension sensor 9 and a second lower fabric tension sensor 1 are attached to each of the support shafts 7 and 8 supporting the fabric tension sensor 6.
0, and an upper cloth 11 and a lower cloth 12 between the presser metal fitting 2 and the feed rollers 5, 6 and the control rollers 3, 4.
The tension of the upper and lower cloths at the relevant portion is measured by an output signal corresponding to the degree of bending of the support shafts 7 and 8 due to the tension. That is, a pair of tension sensors 9 and 10 each having a strain gauge pasted on the front and rear surfaces of the support shafts 7 and 8 are attached to the support shafts 7 and 8, and the tension of the upper cloth 11 and the lower cloth 12 causes the control roller, the feed roller pairs 3, 5, and Support shafts 7 and 8 are bent in the cloth feeding direction via 4 and 6. At this time, the front side of the strain gauge attached to each support shaft is compressed, and at the same time, the rear side is stretched, and a corresponding signal is output as a measured value of the tension of the upper and lower fabrics.

1 and 12 are guided under the presser metal fitting 2 through between the control rollers 3 and 4 and the feed rollers 5 and 6 of the cloth edge control device b. Then, the set value of the tension at this time is determined, the tension motor m is driven according to the set value, and the tension from the parallel gripping device c to the cloth edge control device b is specified. At this time, the set tension of the upper cloth 11 as FU1 and the set tension of the lower cloth 12 as FL1 are detected by the first tension sensors 15 and 16, and these are input as set values to a controller (not shown). Let me remember it.

The cloths 11, 12 pass through control rollers 3, 4. At this time, tension is generated between the control rollers 3 and 4 and the presser fitting 2 due to frictional resistance.
Then, let the tension of the upper cloth 11 at this time be FU2,
Let the tension of the lower cloth 12 be FL2.
