The image is developed after going through the steps of fixing, washing, and drying. When developing using such an automatic developing machine, it is usually desirable to drain the water from the washing tank at the end of each day's work. However, in facilities that urgently perform X-ray photography and require the results, such as designated emergency hospitals, it is necessary to keep an automatic processor in a ready state (standby state) at all times. In such cases, the rinsing water cannot be extracted and must be used continuously. If the washing water is not drained for a long time, limescale will form inside the washing tank, causing various problems. That is, when photographic film is processed, limescale adheres to the film surface, which interferes with the interpretation of the photograph, and when the film passes through a washing tank,
A slip phenomenon may occur in the washing rack, leading to transportation failure accidents.Furthermore, the washing tank and washing rack become dirty, making cleaning difficult.Furthermore, if a solenoid valve is used in the water pipe, limescale may If the valve becomes clogged, various problems may occur, such as the inability to send flush water or the inability to stop flushing water.

That is, limescale is formed mainly of filamentous bacteria, to which suspended substances in water are attached, forming a so-called slimy shape. Therefore, by sterilizing the filamentous bacteria that play a central role, the formation of limescale can be prevented.
In the present invention, creosote and cresol are selectively used for sterilization. The reason for this selection is as follows.

If these substances are used in large quantities, not only will the accumulation of chlorine ions adversely affect the photographic performance of the developed film, but the following problems will also occur. That is, since the existing washing tank is made of iron plates, there is a problem in that when chlorine or the like is used, the tank corrodes, making it impossible to use chlorine or the like as a disinfectant for a long period of time. Therefore, it may be possible to modify the tank with a material that is corrosion resistant, but in that case, the cost of modification would be considerable. Therefore, it is desirable to use a non-corrosive disinfectant so that existing equipment can be used as is. There is also the issue of water pollution regulations. This is the primary reason why creosote and cresol are used.

2の理由である。 Next, in the present invention, it is assumed that the automatic developing machine is always kept in a standby state, and such a situation is assumed especially in a designated emergency hospital.
That is, at designated emergency hospitals, X-ray photography and development processing are always required. In such hospitals,
Cost must be carefully considered when selecting a fungicide. Therefore, cresol, which is stored in large quantities in hospitals for disinfection purposes and is inexpensive and easily available, may be used. Furthermore, if cresol waste used for hand disinfection is used, there will be no need for utility costs. This is the second reason for using cresol.

Since the BOD component will be high, consideration must be given to wastewater treatment after discharge outside the system, but designated emergency hospitals are generally equipped with these wastewater treatment facilities, so this does not cause any particular problems. .

Reference numeral 10 denotes a container containing a cresol liquid 11. The cresol liquid 11 is sucked from the container 10 into the supply pipe 7 by the action of an ejector, and is mixed into the supply water with the flow rate controlled by a needle valve 12.
In this way, the cresol liquid 11 exhibits a bactericidal action and prevents scale from forming in the washing water. If the flow meter 6 is installed after the addition of the cresol liquid 11 as shown in the figure, the generation or adhesion of water scale inside the flow meter can be prevented and the flow rate can be easily checked.

The container 14 is formed into a box shape using a wire mesh of about 100 meshes (for example, a material equivalent to SUS316 is used),
If granular creosote is stored in the container 14 and brought into contact with the washing water, the sterilizing action of creosote can prevent the formation of limescale.

ことなく、いつでも安定した写真処理ができる。 The embodiments of the present invention have been described above, and according to the present invention, it is possible to prevent limescale from forming in the rinsing water in the rinsing step of the developing process for photographic materials. Even if this water stain prevention measure is taken, there is no abnormality in the developing processability of the film. Furthermore, since no limescale is generated, film transportability is improved, which also helps to prevent accidents. Furthermore, the washing tank and washing rack can be prevented from becoming dirty, and the automatic developing machine can be easily cleaned. Furthermore, at least one of creosote or cresol used in a hospital equipped with an automatic developing machine is added to the washing water in the washing process.
Because it contains seeds, stable photographic processing can be performed at any time without increasing costs in places such as emergency hospitals that require constant standby status.
