An outboard motor has the engine, its auxiliary equipment, a cover, a handle, etc. on the top, and this part protrudes front and rear, left and right, and up and down, making the external size to a certain extent, and it is compact for small boats and low-output engines. In addition, since the engine is a vertical engine with the cylinder section facing horizontally and the crankshaft vertically, when it is removed from the hull and stored or transported, if it is placed horizontally, oil will enter the cylinder section, etc. It is troublesome as it is necessary to remove and remove it, and in some cases it is inconvenient to store and transport it by supporting it vertically or diagonally.

The axis N of 01 passes through the center of the crankshaft 8 and is set at a predetermined angle θ (for example, about 30 degrees) with respect to the central axis of the outboard motor 1 in the longitudinal direction, that is, the propulsion direction axis N 1 . ) Tilt to one side. As a result, the cylinder part 201 is biased toward one side wall 261 of the cover 26, and a space S is formed between the other side wall 262 and the cylinder part 201.
The vaporizer 29 is housed and arranged in this part to improve space utilization. A bracket 30 is provided on this side of the oil pan 6 at the front in the propulsion direction near the inclined cylinder portion 201 so as to protrude toward this side, and the base of the handle 31 is tied to this side. 261 and extends forward in the propulsion direction.

に気化器29を収納することができる。 Next, to explain the operation and effect in detail, the cylinder section 201 of the vertical engine forming the power unit of the outboard motor is viewed from above with the cover 2.
6, the length in the front and back direction is reduced by this amount compared to the conventional case in which the cylinder part 201 faces completely in the front and back direction passing through the propulsion direction axis N1 . Because the carburetor was placed on the side or above the cylinder part facing in the front-rear direction, the external dimensions measured by the cover were large horizontally or upwardly, but by reducing the width of the cover,
While reducing the vertical dimension, a large space S is formed on the opposite side of the inclined side of the cylinder portion 201, and the carburetor 29 can be housed in this portion.

に横倒しして保管し、運搬することができる。 Next, when the outboard motor 1 is removed from the boat, the seat 23 provided on one side wall 262 of the cover 26 should be turned down, and the outboard motor 1 should be stored horizontally so as to face the floor. can be transported by lying on the floor. In this case, the handle 31 is on the top facing the opposite side wall 261, so that the handle 31
will not get in the way. In addition, in this state, the cylinder portion 201 faces diagonally upward due to the above-mentioned inclination, and even if the oil in the oil pan 6 turns sideways and collects at the bottom and is stored, the cylinder portion faces diagonally upward. No oil enters this side, and no oil enters the carburetor 29 or the ignition plug 10. Therefore, there is no need to store or transport the outboard motor by supporting it vertically or diagonally via a support, and there is no need to drain the oil, and the outboard motor can simply be stored and transported by lying on its side.
