At banks that have introduced computer systems, when making deposits and withdrawals, the required data is entered using a keyboard, passbook magnetic stripe, cash card, etc. The input data is sent to a center, and when a reply is received from the center, the data is processed according to the returned data. Then, the bankbook is recorded, the slip is authenticated, and the money is deposited and withdrawn.
Once the transaction has been completed, the process moves on to the next transaction, if any. Roughly speaking, one transaction is divided into two parts, the input stage before sending and receiving, and the output stage after it (bookkeeping, deposits and withdrawals). A CRT display is used in the input stage, and a CRT display is used in the output stage. It is characterized by the use of a printer.

At bank branches, there are high counters where customers stand and transact with bank staff such as cash, bonds, bills and checks, and low counters where customers sit and discuss financial products and make contracts with bank staff. These are called lines. There is a second-line work area after the first-line work area, and although employees in the second-line work area do not have direct contact with customers, they still perform various transactions (mainly bookkeeping). Figure 6 shows an overview of this. Terminal devices T ( 1 , 2 , ...a, b are subscripts to distinguish each other) are installed on both the first line and the second line, and these have similar functions, but the first line installed terminals T 1 and T 2 , ... carries out the above transactions sequentially, and the two-wire installed terminal
Unlike Ta and Tb, these do not overlap. This is related to the fact that cash is handled in the first line, whereas cash is not handled in the second line.

In other words, the front line is equipped with automatic cash deposit/withdrawal machines AC/AD, and if the transaction is, for example, a deposit withdrawal, and this transaction is approved through communication with the center, the cash deposit/withdrawal machine will output the corresponding amount of cash, but if a malfunction occurs. If it becomes impossible to output the cash due to insufficient cash on board, the payment amount will be displayed on the CRT display of the terminal installed on the line. Upon seeing this, the bank employee proceeds to make the payment manually, that is, takes out the relevant amount of cash from the safe and hands it to the customer to complete the transaction. To deal with such a situation, first-line installed terminals prohibit entering into the next transaction until one transaction is completed. On the other hand, since cash is not handled in the second line, there is no need to prepare for the occurrence of the above-mentioned failure, and since the printer is used in the output stage and the CRT display is not used, the input stage is completed and the transmission/reception and output stages are completed. If entered, it is possible to perform inter-transaction overlap processing in which the next transaction is input in parallel with the output of the current transaction. FIG. 5 is a diagram illustrating and explaining this.

However, the occurrence of failures is rare, and it is wasteful to leave data input means such as keyboards and CRT displays idle during the output stage in order to cope with such rare situations. Furthermore, for bank employees, the first line and second line are not completely separated; second line employees sometimes become first line employees, and vice versa. In this case, even though they are the same terminal device, one device can handle overlap processing while the other cannot, which creates confusion and is a problem.

The present invention provides an input task for inputting transaction data, a transmission/reception task for transmitting input data to the center and receiving reply data from the center, in a cash handling terminal connected to a center and installed in a line in a financial institution store. and a screen management task that manages output tasks that perform bookkeeping and deposit/withdrawal according to the data returned from the center, and when an overlap-enabled bit is detected in the data returned from the center, the screen management task executes the input task. Start up and display the input guidance screen on the display to start inputting data for the next transaction, and according to the reply data from the center, if a failure occurs while the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine is withdrawing money, the screen management task will be The data is saved, data input is stopped, and the amount to be paid manually is displayed on the display. When the manual payment completion key is pressed, the screen management task restores the saved data and redisplays the input guidance screen on the display. This feature is characterized in that data input is restarted after

If a failure occurs in the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine during the output stage and the payment has to be made manually, overlapping processing between transactions is possible by processing the transaction using an interrupt. To do this, a screen management task is provided in the terminal software, and an overlap-enabled bit is provided in the downlink message from the center, and when the bit is detected, the input task is activated to start inputting the next transaction data. Also, start the output task and start output operations such as bookkeeping, and if an automatic deposit/withdrawal machine malfunctions and an interrupt occurs during this time, save the input data displayed on the CRT display and give instructions for manual payment. All you have to do is to return to the original input state after completing the manual payment.

To explain with reference to the drawings, as shown in FIG. 1, according to the present invention, the center downstream message 10 includes an overlapping bit. If the transaction is a withdrawal, the message sent from the center includes information such as whether or not the transaction is a deposit withdrawal, the withdrawal amount, and the balance, and a and b indicate these data. The bit that allows overlap may be placed at the beginning, middle, or end of the message 10, but in this example it is placed near the beginning, and when the terminal detects this bit, it can immediately input the next transaction data. . The transmission/reception task is responsible for transmitting input data to the center and receiving replies from the center (telegrams sent down to the center). This task 12, the input task 14 for data input control, and the output task 16 for output control based on the center-down message are under the control of the screen management task 20, as shown in FIG. When the sending/receiving task 12 analyzes the center-down message and detects an overlapping possible bit, it notifies the screen management task 20 of this fact, and upon receiving this, the screen management task immediately activates the input task 14.

When the input task 14 is activated, a menu is displayed on the CRT display of the terminal as shown in FIG. 3, and the terminal operator (teller) is prompted to make a selection.
This menu screen includes deposits, withdrawals, and
Deposit of time deposit, withdrawal upon expiry of the same period,...
There are various transaction items lined up, so the teller uses keystrokes to specify the item that applies to the current transaction. With this designation, an input guidance screen for the transaction as shown in Figures 4a and 4b is displayed on the CRT display, and the teller enters the required data into the blank spaces using the keyboard. When the data entry is complete, the teller presses the input completion key. Upon receiving this, the screen management task starts the send/receive task, sends the input data to the center,
Wait for a reply from the center. When there is a reply, the screen management task 20 detects overlapping possible bits and activates the input task as described above, and also activates the output task to perform bookkeeping, activation of the automatic deposit/disbursement machine, etc. For example, in the case of a deposit withdrawal, the automatic deposit/withdrawal machine inputs the withdrawal amount by denomination and dispenses the cash amount.

If a failure occurs in the automatic cash deposit/withdrawal machine during this output stage, the automatic cash deposit/withdrawal machine will notify the terminal device to that effect (specifically, the output task will notify the screen management task of the abnormality in the cash deposit/withdrawal machine), and the screen management task will causes the input task to stop working, and if input from the keyboard or other sources is not completed.
The data in the CPU register is saved (the CRT input guidance screen disappears), and the output task displays the payout amount by denomination on the CRT screen instead. For example, if you withdraw 15,000 yen, the payout screen will display 10,000, 10,000, 5,5000, 1,000, 0,
Each column of coin 0 is arranged vertically. The teller sees this, takes out the required cash from a nearby safe, hands it to the customer along with the recorded bankbook, and presses the completion key. When the completion key is pressed, the screen management task stops displaying the payout screen, restores the saved data, returns the CRT screen to the input guidance screen, and
Resume data entry.
