Description
〔産業上の利用分野〕
本発明は接着剤、塗料、電子部品・電気部品な
どに使用される注型品等に用いられるエポキシ樹
脂組成物に関し、詳しくは殊に可撓性に優れたエ
ポキシ硬化体を製造しうるエポキシ樹脂組成物に
関する。
〔従来の技術〕
従来、エポキシ樹脂は、機械的、化学的および
電気的な諸性質にすぐれているため各種の成形品
の材料として重用されているが、欠点として可撓
性に乏しい点が挙げられる。この欠点を改良する
手段のひとつとして、未硬化エポキシ樹脂に、両
末端に水酸基を有するエポキシ化液状ポリブタジ
エンを配合して硬化処理することが知られてい
る。
しかしながら、この方法においても可撓性付与
の点で未だ充分でなく、また用いる液状ポリブタ
ジエンの製造において、まず水酸基を有する液状
ポリブタジエンを製造し、次いでエポキシ化する
という複雑な製造工程をとらざるをえにないもの
であつた。
〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕
本発明は、上述のような問題点を克服し、優れ
た可撓性を有するエポキシ硬化体を与えるエポキ
シ樹脂組成物を提供することを目的とする。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
本発明のエポキシ組成物は、未硬化エポキシ樹
脂に、ジエン系モノマーとエポキシ基含有モノマ
ーとを水酸基を導入しうる重合開始剤および/ま
たは連鎖移動剤の存在下で共重合して得られる分
子内に水酸基とエポキシ基を有する共重合体を配
合したことを特徴とする。
本発明において未硬化のエポキシ樹脂として
は、1分子当たり少なくも2個のエポキシ基を有
するものであれば公知のものを任意に選択するこ
とができ、たとえば臭素化エポキシ樹脂、エポキ
シノボラツク樹脂、ビスフエノールA−エピクロ
ルヒドリン樹脂、多官能性エポキシ樹脂、脂肪族
エポキシ樹脂、脂環式エポキシ樹脂等を使用する
ことができる。
これらエポキシ樹脂の代表的な例は、ビスフエ
ノールとエピクロルヒドリンとの反応により得ら
れ、次の一般式で表される樹脂であつて、
(式中、nは5以下の整数である。)
一般にnは2または3以下、エポキシ当量は
170〜300を有するものが好ましい。さらに、これ
らエポキシ樹脂に炭素数3〜10の脂肪族アルコー
ルのグリシジルエーテルたとえばブチルグリシジ
ルエーテル、アリルグリシジルエーテル等の希釈
剤および他の市販のエポキシ樹脂希釈剤を加える
ことも可能である。希釈剤は、通常、エポキシ樹
脂の20重量%以下の配合量で使用することができ
る。
ジエン系モノマーとしては、特に制限されない
が、通常は炭素数4〜12のジオレフイン系不飽和
の非置換−,2−置換−,もしくは2,3−置換
−1,3−ジエンが用いられる。ここで置換基と
してはアルキル基、アリール基、ハロゲン、シア
ノ基、ニトロ基などがある。具体的なモノマーと
しては、1,3−ブタジエン、イソプレン、1,
3−ペンタジエン、クロロプレン、2,3−ジク
ロロブタジエン、2−シアノ−1,3−ブタジエ
ン、2,3−ジメチル−1,3−ブタジエンなど
が用いられる。
エポキシ基含有モノマーとしては、とくに制限
されないが、不飽和グリシジルエステル、例えば
アクリル酸グリシジル、メタクリル酸グリシジル
やアリルグリシジルエーテル等が用いられる。
共重合体中に水酸基を導入しうる重合開始剤お
よび/または連鎖移動剤としては、特に制限され
ないが、通常δ,δ′−アソビス(δ−シアノ)−
n−ペンタノール等の水酸基を有したアソ化合
物、2,2′−アゾビスイソブチロニトリル等のア
ゾ化合物とメルカプトエタノール等のメルカプト
アルカノールとの混合物、過酸化水素等が用いら
れる。このうち、過酸化水素が好ましい。
ジエン系モノマーとエポキシ基含有モノマーの
配合割合は、特に制限されないが通常はジエン系
モノマー50〜98重量%に対し、エポキシ基含有モ
ノマーを50〜2重量%で使用する。
本発明において用いられる共重合体は、基本的
にはジエン系モノマーとエポキシ基含有モノマー
を共重合させて得られるものであるが、必要に応
じジエン系モノマーの一部をエチレン性不飽和モ
ノマーで置き換えることができ、炭素数2〜22個
のα−オレフイン付加重合性モノマーが用いられ
る。具体的には、スチレン、α−メチルスチレ
ン、ビニルトルエン、メタクリル酸メチル、アク
リル酸、塩化ビニル、塩化ビニリデン、アクリロ
ニトリル、アクリルアミド、2−エチルヘキシル
アクリレート、n−オクタデシルアクリレート、
無水マレイン酸、ブテン、2−ヒドロキシエチル
メタクリレートなどである。
重合反応は特に溶媒を必要とはしないが、通
常、アルコール、アルコールと水の混合物、エー
テル、ケトン、脂肪族炭化水素、芳香族炭化水
素、ハロゲン化炭化水素等の溶媒中で行うことが
好ましい。このような溶媒として、メタノール、
エタノール、n−プロパノール、イソプロパノー
ル、ブタノール、プロピルエーテル、テトラヒド
ロフラン、酢酸エチル、セロソルブ、セロソルブ
アセテート、エチルセロソルブ、アセトンなどや
これらの混合物がある。溶媒の使用量は特に制限
されないが、通常全仕込み量(モノマー、溶媒、
過酸化水素等)の5〜500重量%、好ましくは30
〜300重量%である。
開始剤として過酸化水素を使用する場合、特に
制限されないが、通常過酸化水素は全モノマー
100重量部に対し、0.1〜50重量部、好ましくは
0.3〜30重量部が用いられる。過酸化水素は通常、
30〜80%水溶液、好ましくは50%水溶液として使
用される。
重合反応条件は、使用するジエン系モノマー等
の種類、使用量などにより異なり、一義的に特定
できないが、通常は撹拌下、反応温度50〜200℃、
好ましくは80〜150℃で、反応圧力0〜200Kg/cm2
G、好ましくは1〜100Kg/cm2Gで0.1〜24時間、
好ましくは0.2〜20時間反応させることにより、
目的とする分子内に水酸基とエポキシを有する液
状の共重合体を製造することができる。この共重
合体は平均官能水酸基数が1.0以上であることが
好ましい。分子中に存在する水酸基が次の硬化処
理する際に硬化進剤の働きをするものと思われ
る。
本発明に用いられる共重合体は例えば次のよう
な構造を有している。
(ここでRはメチル基または水素、a,bは共
重合体中のそれぞれの構造単位の割合を表すもの
で合計すると1となる正の小数である。nは共重
合体の重合度を表す正数でn=5〜500、好まし
くは10〜200である。)
このようにして得られた共重合体を未硬化のエ
ポキシ樹脂に配合し、通常のエポキシ樹脂用硬化
剤を用いて、必要に応じ硬化促進剤の存在下、硬
化処理してエポキシ硬化体とする。
エポキシ樹脂用硬化剤としては特に制限されな
いが、通常ポリアミン、ポリアミド、二塩基酸ま
たはその無水物等が用いられる。具体的には、ポ
リアミンとしてはジエチレントリアミン、トリエ
チレンテトラミン、イミダゾール、メタフエニレ
ンジアミン、ジアミノジフエニルメタン等が、ポ
リアミドとしてはダイマー酸とポリアミンの縮合
反応により生成するポリアミドオリゴマー等が、
二塩基酸またはその無水物としては、フタル酸ま
たは無水フタル酸、ヘキサヒドロフタル酸または
無水ヘキサヒドロフタル酸、メチル3,6−エン
ド−メチレン−δ4−テトラヒドロフタル酸または
無水メチル3,6−エンド−メチレン−δ4−テト
ラヒドロフタル酸、ピロメリツト酸または無水ピ
ロメリツト酸等が挙げられる。
エポキシ樹脂用硬化剤は、特に制限されない
が、通常未硬化エポキシ樹脂とエポキシ樹脂と共
重合体の総量100重量部に対して5〜200重量部配
合される。
硬化促進剤としては、特に制限されないが、例
えば、トリエチレンジアミン、ベンジルジメチル
アミン、トリエタノールアミン、ジメチルエタノ
ールアミン、ジメチルアミノエタノール、トリ
(ジメチルアミノメチル)フエノールなどの三級
アミン類、2−メチルイミダゾール、2−フエニ
ルイミダゾール、2−フエニル−4−メチルイミ
ダゾール、2−ヘプタデシルイミダゾールなどの
イミダゾール類、トリブチルホスフイン、メチル
ジフエニルホスフイン、ジフエニルホスフイン、
トリフエニルホスフイン、フエニルホスフインな
どの有機ホスフイン類、テトラフエノールフオス
フオニウムテトラフエニルボレート、2−エチル
−4メチルイミダゾールテトラフエニルボレート
などのテトラフエニルボロン塩等が挙げられる。
硬化促進剤は特に制限されないが、通常未硬化
エポキシ樹脂と共重合体とエポキシ樹脂用硬化剤
との合計量に対して、0.01〜10重量%、好ましく
は0.05〜5重量%用いられる。
本発明のエポキシ樹脂組成物には、必要に応じ
て無機充填剤、離型剤、難燃剤、着色剤、カツプ
リング剤などを配合することもできる。
上記エポキシ樹脂組成物に硬化剤、硬化促進剤
を混合し、トランスフアー成形、射出成形、圧縮
成形、注型などの方法により成形品としたり、接
着剤等として使用する。硬化反応は特に制限され
ないが、通常0〜200℃、好ましくは20〜160℃で
行われる。
〔実施例〕
以下実施例により本発明を説明するが、本発明
の範囲はこれらの実施例に限定されるものではな
い。
第1表に本発明の実施例および比較例の共重合
体製造条件、共重合体の諸性質について測定した
結果を示す。第2表に本発明の実施例、比較例の
エポキシ樹脂組成物の配合、硬化条件、エポキシ
硬化体の物性を示す。
〔共重合体の製造例〕
製造例 1〜5
撹拌機を備えたステンレス製耐圧容器に第1表
に示した割合で表示の成分を仕込み、60分間で昇
温した後、表示の条件で重合を行つた。
その後、容器外表面に空気を吹付けて降温し、
表示の後処理を行い共重合体を得た。
製造例 6〜8
30分間で昇温したこと、0.05重量部の4−t−
ブチルカテコールを含む1重量部のトルエンを添
加して重合を停止したこと以外は製造例1〜5と
同様に表示のとおり反応を行い、共重合体を得
た。なお、表中の数値は別に記載のない限り重量
部を意味する。
〔エポキシ硬化体の製造〕
第2表に示す割合で表示の成分を撹拌混合し、
表示の硬化条件にて硬化処理して硬化体を得た。
