For this reason, air fresheners only mask foreign odors and do not have a deodorizing effect, while deodorants have a deodorizing effect but do not allow you to enjoy the various scents that you can when using air fresheners. Furthermore, there was a problem in that the odor of the deodorant itself could cause discomfort to passengers.

In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a blower duct, in which outside air is selectively introduced by an inlet switching damper 2 from an outside air inlet 1a and a vehicle interior air inlet 1b opened at one end (upstream end) of the air duct 1. By rotating the motor 3a of the blower 3 disposed at a predetermined location near the upstream end of the blower duct 1, air inside the vehicle is transferred to each blower opened at the other end (downstream end) of the blower duct 1. Air is blown into the vehicle interior from an outlet (none of which is shown).

A hole is bored at a predetermined location on the side wall of the air duct 1 on the downstream side of the air blower 3, a hollow cylindrical pipe 4 is fitted into the hole, and the opening axis of the opening 4a at one end of the pipe 4 is It is bent so as to be substantially parallel to the axis of the ventilation duct 1 and open in a direction opposite to the ventilation direction (to the left in the figure), so that the air flowing inside the ventilation duct 1 can be easily taken in. The other end openings of the communication passage 1c and the pipe 4 open as a common communication passage 5, but a first switching valve 6 is provided at the branching part between the communication passage 1c, the pipe 4, and the communication passage 5. The switching valve 6
The first port 6a is connected to one end of the communication path 5, the second port 6b is connected to the other end of the communication path 1c, and the third port 6c is connected to the other end of the pipe 4. The first port 6a, that is, the communication passage 5, is selectively communicated with either the communication passage 1c, which is immediately upstream of the blower 3, or the pipe 4, which is immediately downstream. The other end (end opposite to the switching valve) of the communication passage 5 communicates via a hose 7 with one end opening 11a of a case body 11 of an automobile odor removal device 10, which will be described later.

A deodorant chamber, an aromatic agent chamber storing an aromatic agent, and a deodorant chamber provided between these chambers and the valve chamber, and selectively allowing the valve chamber to communicate with the deodorant chamber and the aromatic agent chamber. Since the second switching valve is provided, it is possible to selectively perform a deodorizing action or an aromatic action as required.
