体に付着したトナーや紙粉等の付着物を除去清掃
するためのクリーニング装置に関するものであ
る。

るためにクリーニングローラ等のクリーニング部

グウエブにより清掃するウエブクリーニング装置
が広く使用されている。第1図はこのような従来
のウエブクリーニング装置を定着装置のクリーニ
ングに使用した場合の概略を示す側面図である。

れるようになつている。又、矢印6は定着ローラ
1の回転方向を示し、矢印7はクリーニングウエ
ブ2の送り方向を示している。未定着の画像が上
面に形成された複写紙は進入ガイド8の上を通
り、内部に熱源を備える定着ローラ1と定着ロー
ラ1に圧接し回転可能に支持される加圧ローラ9
の間を通り加熱圧接により未定着の画像は複写紙
に固定され1対の互に逆方向に回転駆動される排
紙ローラ10の間を通つて外部に排出される。そ
の際定着ローラ1と複写紙上の画像を形成するト
ナー11は一部定着ローラ1に附着する(オフセ
ツト現象)。定着ローラ1に附着したトナー11
は図示矢印6方向に回動して、定着ローラ1より
はるかに遅い速度で移動するクリーニングウエブ
2によりぬぐい取られる。

ついて必要量を送ればよいわけである。しかし、
従来のウエブクリーナでは送りのタイミングをメ
インモータや定着ローラの回転等と同期させてい
る。そのためメインモータにおいてはドラムの表
面電位を一定にするための前回転、後回転を行な
い、また定着ローラにおいては、上下ローラの熱
分布を均一にするため設定温度に達するまで前回
転を行なうというように実際の複写動作以外の期
間でも作動しなければならない。

するクリーニング装置において、記録材のサイズ
に応じて上記クリーニング部材の送り量を制御す
ることを特徴とするものである。

や定着ローラ1等の回転とは独立させる。Bは紙
(記録材)サイズ検知手段であつて、Aは検知手
段Bの信号を受けてクリーニング部材の移動量を

様に作動し、第4図に示す横軸に時間を表わすタ
イミングチヤート図のようにモータ12の駆動時
間を決定するものである。

写機をセツトされるとトリガー信号Q3により時
間(t6−t5)の時間モータ12が駆動される。本
実施例中では、紙サイズの送り方向に関する長さ
が長い程、作動時間を増やしている。
