Description
〔産業上の利用分野〕
本発明はプラスチツクめつきした携帯用時計ケ
ースの製造方法に関するものである。詳しくは、
熱可塑性合成樹脂の胴と、透光性熱可塑性合成樹
脂のガラスとの固定の改良に関するものである。
〔発明の概要〕
本発明は熱可塑性合成樹脂の胴にプラスチツク
めつきするための前処理をし、胴を無電解ニツケ
ル及び/または無電解銅めつきし、胴のガラス挿
入部に透光性熱可塑性合成樹脂のガラスを載せ、
胴とガラスを超音波溶着にて固定し、さらに、電
気めつきをすることにより、胴にのみめつきさ
れ、安価にプラスチツクめつきした携帯用時計ケ
ースがえられる。
〔従来の技術と問題点〕
従来のプラスチツク上に金属をめつきした(以
下プラスチツクめつきと称する)携帯用時計ケー
スは、プラスチツク製の胴にプラスチツクめつき
をしてから、ガラスを前記胴に接着剤にて接着又
は圧入等により固定している。しかし、接着の場
合、接着剤を塗布する工程を必要とし、この工程
はコストが高いと同時に接着剤塗布量を正確に規
定しなければならないし、更に防水性は接着剤の
劣下により保証できない。また、圧入による方法
では、胴とくにガラスを固定する部分に大きな歪
がでるため、その部分を頑丈にしなければならな
いし、ガスケツト部品も必要となる。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
熱可塑性合成樹脂の胴にプラスチツクめつきす
るための前処理をして無電解めつきし、次に胴に
透明な熱可塑性合成樹脂ガラスを超音波溶着にて
固定し、しかる後に、銅めつきまたはニツケルめ
つきからなる下地めつきと、金または金合金を含
む貴金属めつきからなる仕上めつきを施す。
この場合、胴にのみ処理されているニツケル且
つ/又は銅の無電解めつきは通常約0.1〜1.0μと
薄く、この後の胴にガラスを超音波溶着にて固定
する工程において、胴とガラスの接触面の胴に処
理された無電解めつき層は破壊され、胴とガラス
の熱可塑性合成樹脂同志は融合しあい、溶着す
る。これは、この接触面部に超音波のエネルギー
が集中するためである。
また、電解めつき工程では、透明な熱可塑性合
成樹脂ガラスには無電解めつき処理がしていない
ため、金属は析出しない。
この発明の目的は、熱可塑性合成樹脂の胴に透
光性熱可塑性合成樹脂のガラスを固定す工程を安
定させて製造コストを安くし、さらに形状的な制
約を少なくし、防水性のあるプラスチツクめつき
の携帯時計を得ることである。
〔実施例〕
以下にこの発明の実施例を説明する。第1実施
例として、ポリカーボネイト樹脂をインジエクシ
ヨン成形にて所定の胴形状に成形し、プラスチツ
クめつきの前処理として下記第1表の処理をおこ
なつた。
