ンピユータによる集中管理と自動制御による省力
化が進められている。しかし、荷受け部門につい
て見ると、入荷してくる紙袋等をあいかわらず人
力によつて開袋して張り込んでおり、人手を要す
るばかりでなく作業環境の面からも改善が強く望
まれていた。これに対して、一部精米工場におい
て、いわゆる開袋装置を導入し作業の改善を計つ
ているが、従来の開袋装置はヒートシールされた
ビニール袋などに対して開発されたもので、その
分野ではかなり使用されているものであるが、玄
米を充填した紙袋体の開袋において玄米を完全に
排出することが不可能であつた。すなわち、前記
紙袋体は規格検査を容易にするため袋体の上部の
開口部を紐によつて開閉可能に締結してあり、詳
しくは「袋口をそろえ裏側に3回以上折り曲げて
両端から約10cmのカ所で袋口の中央に折り曲げ左

げ部分に食い込んで残留し、展開時に加振して玄
米を振り出す試みもなされているが完全に袋体か
ら離脱しなかつた。また、袋体をカツターで短冊
状に縦切断した後、袋体と充填物の粉粒体を分離
する円筒状回転篩網の選別機を使用した開袋装置
(たとえば特開昭59−59255号公報)が知られる
が、装置を大型化すると共にその設備費を高価に
するものであつた。残留物の存在は玄米の損失を
招くばかりでなく、また空袋の再利用の面でも玄
米粒が一定以上残存すると紙袋の溶解・処理の際
