給水器の先端に触れやすく、又運動中に自動給水
器の先端を遊ぶ道具にしたり、自動給水器先端の
水呑管部を動かしてケージ内に水漏れを起す。た
とえ、僅かづつでもケージ内に水が溜ると実験用
動物の体が冷えて体重が減少し、投薬とその影響
の実験中の動物の場合にはこの実験に支障を生ず
ることがある。又給水管に取付けられている自動
給水器にケージを連結するときには、ケージの給
水器挿入穴に自動給水器先端を挿入し、自動給水
器に取付けられている栓部をケージの挿入穴に嵌
込み固定している。しかしケージはオートグレー
ブで殺菌消毒して使用されているのでケージの挿
入穴の形状もその消毒時の熱により変形して自動
給水器に取付けた栓がうまく嵌らなくなつたりし
て、ケージを数百個以上も並置して実験用動物を
飼育する研究機関においては、ケージと自動給水
器の連結操作が簡単にできず、煩しいものであ
る。

るケージと自動給水器との連結も簡化変してその
作業を能率化しようとするものである。

に、ケージ設置室内を清潔に保持することができ
る。更に又自動給水器の挿入外管部にゴム質カツ
プの吸盤を取付けてあるので、ケージと自動給水
器との連結、取外しは簡単な圧接操作でできるの
で、数百個以上も並置して実験用動物を飼育する
研究施設においては飼育労力の軽減は極めて大な
る効果を有するものである。
