Abstract

PURPOSE:To allow a user or a repairer to simply set a head lamp in the vertical direction so as to facilitate the maintenance of the head lamp by providing a setting elevator part for adjusting the inclination of a floor at one end of a floor inclination setting level, and by providing an adjusting elevator part adapted to indicate a degree of adjusted inclination, at the other end thereof. CONSTITUTION:When the user or a repairer requires readjustment of vertical setting of a head lamp 1 which has been vertically set, an automobile is set on a suitable surface, and then it is observed through a floor inclination level 5. If the floor inclination level 5 does not indicate a horizontal condition, the adjusting a elevator part 5b is adjusted by means of a dial 5c so as to obtain a horizontal indication whose a gradation is then read. The value of the gradua tion indicated by the dial 5c gives a value of inclination of the surface on which the automobile is set, and accordingly, an inclination is compensated by setting the value of the graduation on a dial 6c of a setting level 6, and in this condi tion, an adjusting screw 3a is adjusted so as to allow the setting level 6 to give a horizontal indication. Thereby it is possible to make a vertical setting, irrespective of an inclined surface.

However, with the conventional aiming method described above, ordinary automobile users are not equipped with an external sight 33, so simple maintenance such as replacing the headlamp 31 cannot be performed, and maintenance workers are unable to perform simple maintenance. In this case, it is necessary to prepare a strictly horizontal surface large enough for the vehicle to be placed on, and the automobile manufacturer has no choice but to create a structure in which the lens of the headlamp 31 moves at the same time as the above-mentioned vertical aiming. This creates constraints on the design.

As a means for solving the above-mentioned conventional problems, the present invention aims vertically by adjusting a vertical aiming mechanism using an adjustment screw by adjusting the movable part of the headlamp using a single headlamp that is virtually attached to a vehicle body. At the same time, the pointing level provided on the movable part of the headlamp is set at a predetermined position, and when the headlamp is installed on the vehicle body, the leveling level provided on the vehicle body or the fixed part of the headlamp is set at a predetermined position. To provide a method for vertically aiming a headlamp, the method comprising: setting the indicator of the aiming level at a predetermined position, and adjusting the vertical aiming mechanism to reset the indicator of the aiming level to the predetermined position to correct individual differences in vehicle bodies. This eliminates the need for a sight and a horizontal surface for vertical aiming of the headlamp 31 after the automobile is shipped, thereby solving the above-mentioned conventional problem.

What is shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 is the floor tilting level 5 (sighting level 6), which is basically a water tube type, but the level 5 (level 6) A setting lifting section 5a (setting lifting section 6a) made of a screw and a spring is provided at one end on the detection side, that is, the side for measuring the horizontal level, and a substantially similar configuration is provided at the other end. Dial 5c (dial 6c)
Adjustment lifting/lowering parts 5b, 6b are provided with indexes 5d (index 6d) added, and these levels 5, 6 can be adjusted by adjusting the setting lifting parts 5a, 6a. The inclination can also be freely adjusted by adjusting the portions 5b and 6b.

Next, to explain the vertical aiming method using the headlamp 1 configured as described above, first, in the lamp manufacturing line, the adjustment lifting parts 5b and 6b of the floor tilting level 5 and the aiming level 6 are adjusted. The dials 5c and 6c are set to the "0" position along with the indicators 5d and 6d, and then they are mounted on a jig or the like that reproduces the state in which they are mounted on a car, and vertical aiming is performed using the adjustment screw 3a. The setting lifting parts 5a, 6a are adjusted, and both levels 5,
6 is adjusted to point horizontally and is supplied to the automobile assembly line.

On the automobile assembly line, the headlamp 1 is assembled to the automobile. In principle, there is no need for further adjustment due to the adjustments made on the lamp manufacturing line, but in reality, due to the accumulation of component tolerances, etc. Due to individual differences in each vehicle, fine adjustment is required, and this fine adjustment can be done by adjusting the setting lifting section 5a and directing the floor tilting level 5 horizontally on a strictly horizontal plane. Vertical aiming is performed by correcting the above-mentioned individual differences and further adjusting the aiming level 6 using the adjustment screw 3a to give a horizontal indication.

When the headlamp 1, which has been vertically aimed using the above procedure, needs to be readjusted, for example by a repair shop or a car user, first place the car on an appropriate surface and use the floor tilting level 5. If the floor inclination level 5 does not indicate levelness, adjust the adjustment lifting/lowering section 5b with the dial 5c to indicate levelness, and read the scale at that time.

The scale value indicated by this dial 5c is the amount of inclination of the surface on which the car is placed, so by setting this scale value on the dial 6c of the aiming level 6, the amount of inclination is corrected. In this state, by adjusting the aiming level 6 using the adjusting screw 3a so as to direct the aiming level 6 horizontally, vertical aiming can be performed even on an inclined surface.

As explained above, according to the present invention, a floor tilting level and an aiming level that are sensitive in the adjustment direction are installed on either the vehicle body or the fixed part and the movable part of the headlamp. The inclination level and the aiming level are provided with a setting lifting part on one side of the detection side to adjust the inclination of the level, and on the other end, the inclination is adjusted and the degree of adjustment is displayed. This headlamp vertical aiming device is characterized by a vertical adjustment part that allows the driver to move up and down, and the corresponding aiming method makes it easier for car users and repairers to prepare an external sight and a strict horizontal surface. This makes it easy to aim vertically without having to move the headlamp, which has the excellent effect of making maintenance easier. It also allows car manufacturers to use headlamps whose lenses do not move together, increasing the degree of freedom in design. It becomes something that plays.
