Construction of conventional examples and their problems In recent years, tape cassettes have been used in various forms in a wide range of fields. However, many types of information about the tapes stored in the cassette, such as tape characteristics, thickness, length, recording speed, and identification of side A and side B, are included in the cassette. At that time, conventional cassettes did not have an adequate number of detected parts to meet these requirements.

In addition, there are devices such as detection switches and magnetic heads that have a detected part on the side surface of the cassette and read information by pressing into contact with the detected part. The detection member remained pressed, and the pressing force caused the cassette to become misaligned, which could impede normal recording and reproduction. Furthermore, in the case of the magnetic head, if it remains stationary and pressed for a long period of time, there is a problem in terms of dirt sticking.

Structure of the Invention The present invention includes a detection portion of a cassette placed on a side surface of the cassette, and a detection member provided adjacent to the detection portion on the same side surface, along the direction of movement of the cassette when inserted into the main plane of the cassette. This tape cassette is equipped with an idle recess, and after the cassette has been inserted, the detection means after detection can be left idle in the recess provided in the cassette.

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS FIG. 1 is a top view of a tape cassette in a first embodiment of the present invention, in which 1 is a tape cassette, 2,
Reference numeral 3 indicates the left and right sides of the tape, and 4 indicates the detected portion. The type and length of the tape are displayed based on the combination of the presence or absence of holes at each location (the figure shows the case where all holes are provided). Reference numeral 5 denotes a recessed portion for idle use of the detected member provided adjacent to the detected portion 4, and is shaped differently from the hole in the detected portion. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the detection member is made sufficiently large so that there is no contact between the detection member and the cassette. FIG. 2 is a side view thereof.

When using the tape cassette constructed as described above, when inserting the tape cassette into the cassette holder (not shown) in the direction of arrow A, each tape cassette can be inserted by simply bringing the detection switch (not shown) into contact with the side surface. It is possible to detect the presence or absence of a hole in the detected part and read information regarding the cassette. After the detection is completed, that is, after the insertion is completed, the detection switch enters the recess 5 and becomes idle, thereby eliminating unnecessary force on the cassette and protecting the detection member and the detected member.

FIG. 3 is a top view of a tape cassette showing a second embodiment of the invention. In the figure, reference numeral 6 denotes a strip-shaped recording display material such as a magnetic tape attached to the side surface of the cassette, and is attached to a recessed area as shown in the figure. FIG. 4 is a side view thereof. For a tape cassette constructed as described above, the cassette can be inserted by bringing the magnetic head into contact with it. After inserting a certain amount of cassette 1, the magnetic head is brought into contact with the tape cassette. Similarly, the magnetic head is located in the recess 5.
Go inside and become idle. FIG. 5 shows the situation. Reference numeral 7 denotes a magnetic head which may be capable of not only reproducing but also recording if necessary.

As described above, according to this embodiment, a large number of detected parts are provided along the insertion direction, and one detection means is sufficient for detection, and after detection, the detection part or the side surface of the cassette is Since the contact relationship is resolved,
This protects the detection means, protects the detected part, and allows the cassette to be positioned correctly without applying unnecessary force to the cassette.

Effects of the Invention The present invention provides a detecting portion of the cassette arranged on the side surface of the cassette along the direction of movement of the cassette when inserted into the main plane direction of the cassette, and a detecting member provided adjacent to the detected portion on the same side surface. By providing an idle recess, the detection means enters the recess after detection, so the contact relationship with the detected part or the side surface of the cassette is released, protecting the detection means, the detected part, and the cassette. The cassette can be positioned correctly without applying unnecessary force to the cassette. Furthermore, since the detection means is disengaged within the dimensions of the cassette, it is more effective in downsizing the equipment than in the case where the cassette is completely moved to disengage the abutment. Furthermore, since no special disengagement means is required,
The configuration of the device is also simplified.
