A step 1 arranged in an endless manner to carry passengers, a rotating body such as a handrail 2, a handrail 3, and an entrance/exit 4
All of these components are supported by a main body frame 5, and are ultimately mounted on the floor 6 of a building. It should be noted that the majority of the above-mentioned balustrades 3 are transparent balustrades in the form of Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-13430 shown in Fig. 6 or opaque balustrades having opaque panels shown by imaginary lines X in Fig. 6. As is well known.

A balustrade 3 in which a panel 7 made of transparent tempered glass is used is called a transparent balustrade, and the upper end of the panel 7 is provided with a packing 8, a grip body 9, and a pressure bonding body 10. The gripping body 9 and the crimping body 10 grip the panel 7 with the crimping force generated by tightening the fastening bolts 11, and the handrail frame 12 and guide frame 1 that cover these structures
3 forms a beautiful outer skin, while a guide 14 fixed to a guide frame 13 guides the movement of the handrail 2. Therefore, each of the parts 7 to 14 serves as a structure that maintains the strength of the handrail 3, guides the handrail 2, and serves as a decorative part.

Particularly recently, there has been a trend of using stone materials such as marble extensively in luxury buildings to emphasize a solid and natural feel, and there is a strong desire for a form of the balustrade 3 that matches this design intention.

By the way, it is said that while the allowable breaking stress of tempered glass is 1500Kg/cm 2 , that of marble is about 1/10, so in order to obtain the same strength, it is necessary to use an extremely thick plate.

In addition, an example is shown in which marble panels 15 are arranged on both sides of the balustrade. This balustrade structure is such that the handrail frame 12a, decks 16, and 17 cover the upper and lower ends of the panel 15, and its weight is supported by brackets 19 fixed to the balustrade supports 18. In this case, although the panel 15 is supported in the vertical direction by the bracket 19, there is no measure to prevent it from sliding down in the direction of the slope indicated by the arrow A, and the gap at the joint B increases over time, making it difficult to insert hands or clothes into the space. This poses safety and aesthetic problems.

The present invention comprises: a main body frame installed at an angle across upper and lower floors; a plurality of support columns provided at intervals in the longitudinal direction of this main body frame; and a bracket fixedly attached to the lower part of the support columns. , a thick plate weight panel whose lower part is supported by the bracket and whose upper part is prevented from falling by the upper side of the support column, and a plurality of these thick plate weight panels are arranged adjacently with gaps in the longitudinal direction. In the railing of the passenger conveyor, the support column is positioned opposite to the joint part of the plurality of thick plate weight panels, and the support piece that abuts the lower end of the slope of the thick plate weight panel is supported. It is provided on a pillar, and this support piece restricts the movement of the thick heavy panel in the direction of the slope.

In the balustrade 22 provided with panels 20 and 21, while supporting the handrail frame 12a, guide frame 13, and guide 14 at the upper end of this balustrade 22, the panels 20 and 2
A support column 24 having a bracket 23 that supports the weight of the panel 1 is provided, and the support column 24 is provided at a position facing the joint C of a plurality of panels 20 and 21 arranged adjacently with a gap in the longitudinal direction. A feature is that a support piece 25 is provided that faces into the gap between the joint portion C. Here, the main body frame 5
The panels 20 and 21 are installed on the upper and lower floors at an angle, and the panels 20 and 21 arranged along this slope are placed on the bracket 23 via the cushion 26, and the upper end of the panel is placed on the handrail frame 12.
Cushion 2 inserted into recess 12b inside a
7 prevents it from coming into contact with metal to prevent it from falling. A support column 24 is provided at a position that matches the joint C of the panels 20 and 21 to support the parapet 22, and a support piece 25 abuts the lower end of the slope of the panels 20 and 21. Movement in the downward direction is restricted. Also,
This support piece 25 is fixed to the support column 24 with screws 28, and its both ends protrude to about half the thickness of the panels 20 and 21 and engage with the joint C, causing the panel 21 etc. to slide down as shown by arrow D. It acts as a stopper when someone attempts to do so, and prevents fingers or clothes from getting caught by eliminating the widening of the gap at the joint C. Furthermore, this support piece 25 has a pin 2.
9 is fixedly installed, and a hole 21a is provided at the end of the panel 21 at a position that matches this pin 29.
, and restricts movement of this panel 21 in the lateral direction (arrow E).

てある。 On the other hand, the dimensions of the joint C between panels 20 and 21 are:
Since the thickness of the support piece 25 inserted here cannot be reduced to less than the thickness of the supporting piece 25, and it is possible that fingers or clothing may be caught in this gap, the joint C is filled with backing material 30 and caulking agent 31 as shown in Fig. 4. The gap has been filled.

According to the present invention described above, even when thick panels made of marble or the like are used for the balustrade, harmful gaps do not occur, and it is possible to provide a balustrade for a passenger conveyor that is excellent in safety and aesthetic appearance.

will of course be deleted. Further, the pin 29 is not absolutely necessary, and there is no problem in adopting another method that can restrict the lateral movement of the panel 20 or the like.
