乱れを生じ、コロナが発生しやすくなる。これ
は、付属機器及び端子類がシールドリングの周方
向に向かつて突出していると、その部分に電界が
集中するためである。そして、コロナが発生する
と、変換所用避雷器4の電位分布にも乱れを生
じ、サージカウンターの誤動作、磁鋼片による電
流計測値の誤差増大、付属機器に使用している絶
縁物の劣化、あるいは、サイリスタバルブの制御
系にノイズとなつて干渉し誤動作の原因となるた
め、変換所用避雷器の信頼性が著しく低下してい
た。

等による膨脹ストレスがかかり、碍子に歪みや破
損が生じることがあつた。すると、それらの破損
部分から中空碍子の内部に水分が侵入し、吸湿等
を起こし、中空碍子内部で電気的閃絡を起こす。
その結果、絶縁架台1と併設されている下部アー
ム側のサイリスタバルブにおいても閃絡が生じ、
変換所の運転を停止しなければならなかつた。
