題があつた。従つて使用済燃料チヤンネルボツク
スを貯蔵に適した形状たとえば平板状に切断する
ことにより貯蔵効率を向上させることが必要とな
つている。この要求に応えるものとして、既に使
用済燃料チヤンネルボツクスの切断装置が開発さ
れている。しかしながら、これらのものはパンチ
ング或いはロータリカツタによる剪断などによる
ものであり、使用済燃料チヤンネルボツクス切断
に時間がかかり、クリツプを除去しないため減容
効率に欠点があつた。
