Conventionally, in an optical data link connector including a light emitting or light receiving element used for optical transmission, the entire connector is fixed to the substrate after mounting on the substrate, so that the mounting direction cannot be changed.

FIG. 4 is a top view of a conventional optical data link connector when in use. That is, the optical data link connector 1 ′ connected to the optical fiber 3 is connected to the optical connector (not shown) attached to the substrate 4. In this case, the mounting direction of the connector 1'has been fixed.

In this way, in the conventional structure, the optical data link connector is fixed to the board. Therefore, when the connector is installed once the direction is determined, the board including the opposing connector or the device system is moved, the connector of this connector is moved. Since the direction does not change, the optical fiber is unduly stressed and twisted, which shortens the life of the optical fiber.
Further, since unreasonable stress is applied to the coupling portion between the optical fiber and the optical data link connector, a mismatch between the tip (light emitting portion) of the optical fiber and the light emitting or light receiving element occurs, resulting in a large optical coupling loss. However, if the stress is large, there is a drawback that the connector coupling portion is destroyed.

The object of the present invention is to eliminate such drawbacks, by making the connector rotatable with respect to the optical fiber, the mounting direction of the connector can be freely changed, and no unreasonable stress is applied.
An object of the present invention is to provide an optical data link connector that does not cause mismatch and can reduce optical coupling loss.
