従来の電子写真装置の例えば放電装置としての転写、分
離装置では転写紙を転写ガイドで感光体に密着させた
後、転写帯電器を用い、転写紙の背面にトナーの極性と
は逆極性の帯電を施し静電気力を利用し、感光体表面上
のトナーを転写紙に転写したのちに分離帯電器を用い、
AC放電あるいはこれにトナーと同極性のDC放電を加
えた放電を行ない転写の際に転写紙に加えた電荷を除電
し、転写紙と感光体との吸着力を低減し、転写紙の弾性
力を利用して転写紙を感光体から分離する構成になって
いた。このとき分離除電を行なっても転写紙には転写電
荷が残っている。この転写電荷により転写紙と感光体は
吸着力が残っているので感光体上にトナーがある場合は
密着が余り強くなく分離しやすく、逆に全くトナーがな
い場合には感光体表面に対する密着性がよいため非常に
分離しづらい。そのため、現像装置が着脱可能な電子写
真装置では該現像装置を所定の位置にセツトすることを
怠った場合、コピーをしても感光体上にはトナーがのら
ず、そのため転写紙の感光体に対する密着性のため分離

着させたのちに転写紙17の背面に転写帯電器15を用
いてトナーの極性とは逆極性の帯電を行ない静電気力を
利用し感光体10上のトナーを転写紙17に転写した
後、分離帯電器16を用い、AC放電あるいはこれにト
ナーと同極性のDC放電を加えた放電を行ない転写の際
に転写紙17に加えた電荷を除電して転写紙17と感光
体10との吸着力を除去し、転写紙17の弾性力を利用
して転写紙17を感光体10から分離する構成になって
おり、現像装置13の着装の状態はコネクタピン41と
コネクタソケツト42で検知する。そして、この検知信
号によって高電圧発生装置43を制御し、現像装置13
が所定の位置に着装されている時は転写帯電器15と分
離帯電器16は通常通り作動し、現像装置13が所定の
位置に着装されていない時は電気的接続を行なわないこ
とにより放電を行なわないという構成をとると、現像装
置13の入れ忘れ、あるいは着装不良等が生じた場合で
も転写紙17を感光体表面に必要以上に密着させること
もなくジヤムを防止でき確実に分離することが可能とな
