DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The direct-coupled amplifier circuit is called Darlington connection as shown in FIG. 1. It is an emitter-follower two-stage direct-coupled amplifier circuit in which a PNP or NPN type is connected in two-stage direct connection. Therefore, when the connection is made in this way, the current amplification factor becomes a product of the current amplification factors of the respective semiconductors, so that it is possible to perform direct current amplification with high sensitivity.

1. A direct-coupled three-stage or four-stage amplifier circuit is used. In the case of the direct-coupled three-stage, if the detection plate 10 is connected to the base of the front stage 7 and the earth plate 11 is connected to the emitter, negative ions are detected. If a ground plate 11 is connected to the detector and a detector plate 10 is connected to the emitter, the changeover switch 9 detects positive ions.
In the case of 4-stage direct connection, if the detection plate 10 is connected to the base of the front stage 8 and the ground plate 11 is connected to the collector, negative ions are detected. The ground plate 11 is connected to the base of the front stage 8 and the detection plate 10 is connected to the collector. If so, the changeover switch 9 is used to detect positive ions, and the output of those switches is amplified to green 1.
The positive, negative and ionic polarities of the LEDs 3, 3, 14 and 15 are displayed on the drive IC 12 according to the detected ion amount, or the needle display on the meter and the digital display on the liquid crystal are performed according to the detected ion amount.
