Claims (1)
搬入口と、この搬入口から搬入された現像器を上記像担
持体方向に第1のガイド手段に沿って搬送する第1搬送
手段を有する画像形成装置本体と、この本体の外部に取
り付けられた現像器収納装置であって、それぞれ現像器
を収納する複数の収納部が上下方向に配列されていて、
上下方向に可動な現像器支持手段と、上記本体の搬入口
に位置している収納部から現像器を上記本体内に搬送す
る第2の搬送手段を有しており、選択された現像器が収
納されている収納部を上記本体の搬入口に位置させるよ
うに上記現像器支持手段を移動させた後、この選択され
た現像器を第2の搬送手段で上記本体内に搬入する現像
器収納装置と、を備えた画像形成装置において、上記本
体は、上記第1のガイド手段に沿う方向と直交する横方
向への現像器の着脱移動を案内する第2のガイド手段を
備えており、上記現像器の各々は上面に設けられた第1
のラックと側面に設けられた第2のラックとを有してお
り、上記第1の搬送手段は現像器の上方に配置されて第
1のラックに噛合し、第1のガイド手段に沿って現像器
を移動させる第1のギヤを有しており、前記第2の搬送
手段は前記搬入口に位置した収納部から前記本体内に現
像器を搬送する際は現像器の第2のラックと噛合し、前
記現像器支持手段が上下動する時はこの移動路から退避
する第2ギヤを有することを特徴とする画像形成装置。1.
