In recent years, as a method of exposing various irregular asperity patterns on the surface due to the variety of tastes of ceramic products, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 55-904
In 83 publication, a colorant is applied to the base material, spotted with glaze on it, and a method of exposing the entire surface with glaze to reveal a spotted pattern is disclosed in JP-A-57-100986. A method for obtaining a multi-colored uneven pattern by overcoating a basic glaze with a mixture of a primary color pigment having a coarse particle size and a medium is also disclosed in JP-A-57-129887.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open Publication No. Sho-Gai-Kai describes a method of applying a slurry of a pigment and a water-soluble paste on a glaze and firing it in an oxidizing flame to positively modify the glaze, pigment, etc. to change the coloring state. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 58-30992 discloses a method of forming a concavo-convex pattern on the surface layer by permeating a high molecular compound such as glycerin or polyethylene glycol into the surface material.

The color tone of ceramic products such as tiles depends on the atmosphere, firing temperature,
It is very difficult to obtain a product with the same color tone, as it is sensitively affected by slight changes in baking time and composition of the glaze.

The uneven pattern described in each of the above publications changes the specific composition contained in the glaze by a chemical reaction during firing, so that a so-called kiln modification method is adopted, so that the colored pattern and the degree of unevenness can be controlled. Difficult to get a controlled product within a delicate range.

For example, when using a metal oxide as a colorant, the metal oxide gives a stable color at about 1300 ° C, but the firing temperature of the tile is usually about 1200 ° C, so sufficient color development cannot be obtained at the firing temperature. Moreover, the coloring state is not stable.

An object of the present invention is to complete a method capable of stably producing a pattern having a speckled or net-like pattern, and having a unique irregular surface having the spot-like or net-like pattern forming a convex portion on the surface of a ceramic product. To do.

The surface pattern of the ceramic product having the above-mentioned form, on the upper surface of the base material, has a pigment that exhibits stable color development without a change in crystal shape or the like at the glaze baking temperature, and a glaze having a different surface tension at the glaze baking temperature, It can be obtained by laminating two or more layers and then baking it.

The glaze applied in multiple layers melts and flows at the glaze baking temperature, and part of the pigment powder dispersed in the surface glaze is partially reticulated directly under the surface of the molten glaze due to the surface tension of the molten glaze. Alternatively, they aggregate in spots. The aggregated pigment forms a raised mesh pattern in the base glaze in which the pigment is uniformly dispersed.

The conditions for increasing the mutual flow of the glaze applied in this multilayer and promoting the partial agglomeration movement of the pigment dispersed in the glaze on the surface to obtain stable color development are as follows.

(2) The pigment dispersed in the surface glaze layer is a pigment such as a spinel type, a zircon type, a metal oxide and a solid solution thereof which is stable at the glaze baking temperature.

(3) An intermediate glaze layer having a low degree of fire is formed between the surface glaze layer and the base glaze layer so that pigment flow and aggregation at the glaze temperature are increased. By forming this intermediate layer in the form of spots, it becomes possible to form a surface pattern remarkably.

The net-like pattern obtained by the condensation of the pigment increases the baking temperature of the glaze and further lengthens the baking time, whereby the degree of condensation is promoted and the net-like pattern is formed.

Referring to the figure, the composition of glaze C for forming the underlayer is 80% by weight of frit, 5% by weight of clay, 5% by weight of feldspar, 10% by weight of talc and 10% by weight of zircon on the tile base 1. The glaze was made into 145 g / cc sludge and uniformly glazed with a waterfall to a thickness of 0.40 mm.

2.5 g of a glaze B for forming an intermediate layer consisting of 10% by weight of zircon and 10% by weight of zircon was applied in a speckled manner using a disc mottle as a slurry of 155 g / cc per tile of 150 mm square.

Further, the glaze A for forming the surface layer was prepared by uniformly dispersing and mixing 6% by weight of the spinel pigment in the glaze having the same composition as the glaze C for forming the underlayer to prepare 145 g / cc of sludge and spraying the glaze A for forming the surface layer. 2.0 g of each 150 mm square tile was glazed, dried, and then baked at 1100 ° C. for 40 minutes in an oxidizing atmosphere.

Referring to the figure, X indicates a dark color portion formed by the pigments aggregated in a net shape, and Y indicates a lower glaze portion in which fine pigments are dispersed. The reticulated dark color portion X forms a convex portion slightly protruding from the lower glaze portion Y, and has a very neat and peculiar pattern in which the entire portion is covered with a glassy film leaving unevenness.
