Description
【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 この発明は通紙経路の温度上昇を防止できるようにした
複写装置に関するものである. 〔発明の背景〕 一般に複写装置は光学系の走査により感光体ドラムに形
成した潜像を現像器でトナー画像に現像し,タイミング
をとって供給されてきた記録紙に転写後,定着器を通し
て定着排紙するようになっている.この定着器は前記ト
ナー画像を熱と圧とにより記録紙に溶融定着させるもの
で,必要充分な温度(約200℃)にコントロールされて
いる.従って,連続複写を行うときは定着部から排紙部
にかけての通紙経路が相当に高温化する.特に,両面複
写機能を搭載した複写装置のように排紙部に排紙経路と
両面複写経路とを切換える経路切換え機構を備えた場合
には排紙部が高温化すると,複数の通紙経路は機外との
温度差等の影響を受けて結露現象を生じ、ジャムを発生
させる原因になったばかりでなく,片面複写後の記録紙
同士がスタッカー内でトナーを介して貼り付いたり,通
紙経路を構成するガイド部材に高熱によりトナーが付着
し,給紙・搬送を妨害するなどのトラブルが発生した. この問題は中速機以上の機種では重要な技術問題であ
り,従来から専用のファンを設置するとか,定着器
の温度を片面コピー時に高くし,両面コピー時に低く変
更する等で対処していた. しかしながら,の場合はコスト的に不利であり,その
ためのスペースを占有するという問題があった.また,
単に専用ファンを設けただけであったため,該ファンは
コピー完了と同時に停止してしまい所謂オーバーシュー
トという現象で停止後温度上昇があり,上記問題の解決
には充分でなかった.の場合は連続コピー直後の片面
コピーにおいて定着不良が発生し易いという問題があっ
た. 〔発明の目的〕 この発明は上記の点に鑑み,既設の冷却ファンからの排
風利用してファンによって可動分岐体を含むガイド部材
とからなる通紙経路の定着部寄りに風を送るとともに、
コピー完了後も同作用を延長して排紙部の高温化を防止
するとともに,所謂オーバーシュート現象をなくして信
頼性の向上を企図した複写装置を提供することを目的と

ガイド部材を備えた複写装置であって,前記ファンの近
傍に風を集める入口と前記排紙部の外側近傍に通風専用
ダクトを設け,該通風専用ダクトの出口を前記排紙部の
定着部寄りに設けることによって前記ファンからの風
を,前記ダクトを通して前記ガイド部材の定着部寄り
に,該定着部を通すことなく吹き付け可能にし,前記ガ
イド部材をファンから供給される排紙部外の空気により
コピー完了後ファンの作動時間を延長して冷却するよう
に構成したものである. 〔実施例〕 次に,この発明を添付図面に示す実施例に基づいて説明
する. 第1図はこの発明を適用した両面複写装置の断面図を示
している.図において,1は複写装置本体,2は給紙部,3は
原稿台4上に載せられた原稿からの情報を感光体ドラム
5上に照射する光学系ユニット,6は感光体ドラム5上に
形成された潜像をトナー画像に現像する現像ユニット,7
は前記給紙部2に装着したカセットから一枚づつ送出さ
れた用紙にトナー画像を転写する転写部,8は転写後の用
紙を搬送ベルト9を介して受領し,複写面を定着させる
定着部である.定着部8の下流側には用紙を機外の排紙
皿10へ排出する排紙経路11と,両面複写経路12との切換
機構13′を持つ排紙部13が設けられている.14は前記両
面複写経路12が搬送路15を介して連通した用紙反転機
構,16はスタッカー,17はスタッカー16に収容された用紙
の再給紙機構,18は再給紙機構17から給紙した用紙を前
記給紙部2の給紙経路へ中継する中継部である. 19は複写装置本体1内の光学系ユニット3の加熱防止の
ための既設の冷却ファンで,該ファン19は第2図及び第
3図示の如く本体1の側壁に設けた排風口20にダクト21
を介して連通している.22は排風口20の仕切枠に外部か
ら係止した排風ダクトで,該排風ダクト22は前記冷却フ
ァン19からの排風口20を通して機外に放出される排風の
一部を前記排紙部13へそのカバー体23の上面に設けた開
口部24から切換機構を含む通紙経路内に,定着部8寄り
から導入可能にするためのものである.この排風は光学
系ユニット3内の空気流であり,実験的には60℃を越え
ることはない.この60℃という温度は排紙部13及びその
周辺の通紙経路を構成するガイド部材が約120℃を越え
る高温となることを考慮すれば,これらの個所を冷却す
るに充分な温度であるといえる. 25は前記冷却ファン19の作動時間を延長するタイマー
で,該タイマー25はコピー完了の信号によりマイコン等
を介して作動し,設定時間(約5〜10秒程度)冷却ファ
ン19の駆動モータ26のみ通電を延長するように機能する
ものである.即ち,一般にコピーを完了し,同時に冷却
ファン19が停止すると,第4図示の如く停止後温度上昇
(オーバーシュート現象)があり,これを防止するため
に有効であり,冷却ファン19の作動時間の延長は第5図
示の如く前記オーバーシュート現象を防止し,排紙部13
及びその周辺の通紙経路の高温化防止の信頼性を大幅に
向上させ得ることとなる. 〔発明の効果〕 以上説明したように,この発明に係る複写装置は複写装
置本体内にファン(19)と,該ファン(19)の作動時間
をコピー完了後延長するタイマー(25)とを有し,か
つ,定着部(8)の下流側の排紙部(13)に設けた排紙
経路(11)と両面複写経路(12)を形成する切換機構
(13′)等のガイド部材を備えた複写装置であって,前
記ファン(19)の近傍に風を集める入口と前記排紙部
(13)の外側近傍に通風専用ダクト(21)を設け,該通
風専用ダクト(21)の出口を前記排紙部(13)の定着部
(8)寄りに設けることによって前記ファン(19)から
の風を,前記ダクト(21)を通して前記ガイド部材の定
着部(8)寄りに,該定着部(8)を通すことなく吹き
付け可能にし,前記ガイド部材をファンから供給される
排紙部(13)外の空気によりコピー完了後ファンの作動
時間を延長して冷却することを特徴としているから,複
写装置の運転中はその排風の一部が常時排紙部及びその
周辺に形成した通紙経路に導入され,従って,定着器の
熱によりガイド板等が高温化することがなく,片面複写
後の記録紙同士がスタッカー内でトナーを介して貼り付
いたり,片面・両面複写後の記録紙から通紙経路を構成
するガイド部材にトナーが付着するなどのトラブルの発
生が回避される.また,冷却ファンは既設のものを利用
しているのでコスト高となることはなく,専用ファンを
設けるような設置スペースが不要である.しかも,コピ
ー完了後も一定時間送風して冷却し,コピー中よりガイ
ド部材が高温化(オーバーシュート)するのを防止し,
