電動モータの回転運動を直線運動に変換するものであつ
て、主として歯車やネジを用いた(例えば、特開昭60−

とともに、前記筒体の外周面にリングギアを設け、さら
に該リングギアを周方向へ回転させる駆動手段を設けた
テレスコピツクステアリング装置を構成した。

介して軸着され、筒体18はステアリングシヤフト5,6を
中心として回転自在である。なお、筒体18の回転はウオ
ーム22とウオームホイール21のほか、第4図に示した如
く、平歯車26、27同士の噛合構成としてもよい。筒体18
が回転することにより、コラムジヤケツト9が筒体18の
回転に従動して回転するのを阻止するため、第3図に示
した如く、コラムジヤケツト9に回転止めピン28を、コ
ラムジヤケツト8の軸方向へ一定長で穿設した長孔29に
嵌合するように突設する。

ないために、コラムジヤケツト9は軸方向へ移動する。
したがつて、電動モータ23を正転させればコラムジヤケ
ツト9が可動ブラケツト2から離れる方向へ移動してコ
ラムジヤケツト8,9の全長が伸び、またこの逆に電動モ
ータ23を逆回転させればコラムジヤケツト9が可動ブラ
ケツト2に近接してコラムジヤケツト8,9の全長は縮む
ことができる。

側のコラムジヤケツト外周面に回転可能に係止すべく嵌
合させるとともに、前記筒体の外周面にリングギアを設
け、さらに該リングギアを周方向へ回転させる駆動手段
を設けたから、構造が極めて簡素で、しかも可動側のコ
ラムジヤケツトが回転しないのでコンビスイツチ等の取
付けに支障を生じることがなく、また、筒体と可動側の
コラムジヤケツトとの螺合部における噛合の遊びはステ
アリングホイール等の重量により下側へ押下げられて片
寄るのでガタを生ぜしめることなく、走行中に運転者が
不快を生じることがない。また、筒体がコラムジヤケツ
ト外周面に嵌合することで、筒体とリングギアは軸方向
へ移動しない。そのため、リングギアと駆動手段側のギ
アとの噛み合いは常に一定の接触面積であるため、ギア
噛合部の剛性が一定に保たれる。さらに、ギアの大きさ
は互いのギアが噛み合うだけの幅で済むので、リングギ
ア及び駆動手段の小型化が図れる、などの効果を奏す
る。
