【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は、エンドレス熱間圧延におけるストリップの接

いはその近傍の側端部にクリッピングを行っておき、切
断機の前でこれを検出し、切断タイミングを決定する方
法及び装置であるが、接合後クリッピング作業が必要な
ため装置が複雑になること、また、接合作業のサイクル

捉えることが難しく検出精度が十分に得られないという

本発明は上述の問題点を解決するものであり、シートバ

トバーを仕上圧延機内でエンドレス熱間圧延し、圧延さ
れたストリップを巻取機入口の上流で切断する際の、該
ストリップの接合部検出する方法に適用され、次の方法
を採った。すなわち、 先行ストリップ後端と後行ストリップ先端を幅差を設け
て接合しておき、仕上圧延後のストリップ切断の前に幅
差部分を検出することにより接合部を検出することを特
