を考慮して一挙に大量の水を散水するようなことをせず
に、時間を二百数十秒と多くかけて散水消火する。また
その散水消火に伴い発生した高温排ガスを含む多量の蒸
気は密閉状態の消火塔2から外部に漏れることがなく、
その消火塔2内から上部の捕集吸引口14より接続ダクト
18を介して蒸気処理装置の前段の冷却洗浄塔15に吸引導
通される。そこで前処理として散水装置17の多段に配す
る冷却水散水ノズル17aから散水を受け、蒸気は冷却さ
れて温度が低下すると共に蒸気粒径が拡大され、また一
部の蒸気は冷却水と共に落下して捕集除去される。こう
して前処理された蒸気は次に後段の湿式洗浄機16に吸引
導通され、そこで左右のS字形インペラー23,24相互間
にこの下端側から上端側に向けて高速でしかも底部の洗

で、大量の水を従来の如く一挙に散水せずに少し時間を
かけて散水することが可能で、それだけ蒸気の噴出が和
らいで外への漏れの心配が少なくなると共に、その蒸気
を消火塔内から吸引導出して除去処理する蒸気処理装置
の運転が楽で小型化が可能となり、設備費並びに運転コ
