[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, in the production of such a cover member, if the light-shielding colored layer is removed by irradiation with laser light to form a light-transmitting portion, the thickness of the light-shielding colored layer and the laser light Due to energy variations, part of the light-shielding colored layer may remain, or conversely, even the light-transmitting colored layer may be partially removed, resulting in the light and shade of the light-transmitting colored layer, which makes the appearance unsightly. It was For this reason, it is difficult to control the manufacturing conditions such as the thickness of the light-shielding colored layer and the energy setting of laser light,
The drawback is that the pass rate is significantly reduced.

[Means for Solving the Problems] As a result of various studies on the inexpensive and stable industrial manufacturing method of the cover member having the light transmitting portion, the present inventors formed it by a conventional method of heating and pressing in a mold. When a light-transmitting colored layer is provided on the key top side surface of the covered cover member, a light-transmitting protective layer is provided thereon, and a light-shielding coloring layer is further provided thereon, and the light-shielding coloring layer is irradiated with laser light, light-shielding is performed. It was found that the processing stability is increased, the yield and the quality are improved because the translucent protective layer prevents the thermal protection from absorbing the variation in the processing depth due to the variation in the thickness of the colored layer. . By this method, a cover member having a high-quality light-transmitting portion was obtained easily, inexpensively, and stably, and it was formed on a surface of a cover member molded from a transparent or translucent rubber material. A cover member having a light-shielding colored layer provided with a light-transmitting colored layer on which a light-transmitting portion is formed in a predetermined sign shape, wherein a light-transmitting protective layer is provided between the light-transmitting colored layer and the light-shielding colored layer. And a method of manufacturing the cover member.

On the other hand, the light-shielding colored layer is to be shielded except for the light-transmitting portion, so it is necessary to have a strong light-shielding property, and usually a coloring agent is mixed and colored in black, gray, brown or the like. The thickness is about 5 to 40 μm depending on its light shielding property.

The light-transmitting protective layer provided between the light-transmitting colored layer and the light-shielding colored layer is a protective layer for absorbing variations in processing depth when removing the light-shielding colored layer due to laser light irradiation. Therefore, in order to make the best use of the color tone of the light-transmitting colored layer therebelow, it is made transparent or semi-transparent, and its thickness is preferably about 8 to 30 μm depending on the variation in the thickness of the light-shielding colored layer. Moreover, you may perform a matting process etc. as needed.

In the present invention, the cover member having the three layers thus formed is irradiated with laser light to remove the light-shielding colored layer on the surface so as to form a predetermined code, and the light transmitting portion is formed.
Irradiation of this laser light is performed, for example, with Nd: YAG (Neodium: Yttr
After passing the light beam of the laser light oscillated by the laser through the mask of the code shape that you want to use as the light-transmitting part, irradiate it with focusing with a lens, or the thin laser light is transmitted through the light-transmitting part. The desired shape may be scanned and irradiated.

The Nd: YAG laser marker SL-478J (NEC Corporation) was formed on the light-shielding colored layer made of the black paint film on the key top portion of the cover member having various film thicknesses thus produced.
(Product name), the shape of the letter "AS" was removed and a few pulses of laser light were irradiated with an energy of 15 joules through a glass mask vapor-deposited with aluminum to form a light-transmitting portion in the shape of the letter. Table 1 shows the results of comparison of changes in appearance depending on the thickness of the transparent colored layer and the black paint film. Table 2 shows the criterion, and the state of B is pass and the others are fail.

As a result, when the light-transmitting protective layer has a thickness of 5 μm or more and is thicker, a good light-transmitting part is formed in a wider thickness range of the black paint film by laser irradiation, that is, the black paint film is completely formed. It has been found that processing is possible which removes and does not affect the translucent colored layer. Here, if the thickness of the black paint film is 20 μm or less, the light-shielding property is deteriorated, and 60 μm
In the above case, the surface irregularities remarkably occur and the appearance is deteriorated, so that the range of 30 to 50 μm is suitable for practical use.

From this result, the required thickness of the translucent protective layer is 8 to 30 μm.
The degree is desirable. Note that the light-transmitting protective layer may be one that functions to make it difficult to transfer heat due to laser light irradiation to the light-transmitting colored layer in the lower layer. It is not limited.

[Effects of the Invention] As is clear from the above examples, by providing a light-transmitting protective layer between the light-transmitting colored layer and the light-shielding colored layer, the light-shielding colored layer is removed by irradiation with laser light. , When forming a light-transmitting part in the shape of a predetermined code, due to the variation in the thickness of the light-shielding colored layer, a part of the light-shielding colored layer remains in the light-transmitting part, or conversely a part of the light-transmitting colored layer is removed. It is possible to solve such problems that occur, the stability of processing due to laser light irradiation is significantly improved, and the yield and quality can be expected to improve.
The industrial effect of the present invention is extremely large.
