[発明が解決しようとする問題点] 上記従来技術は次に述べるような問題点があった。
(1)金属パイプ外周に傷をつかせないため、成形ダイ
スの材質は架橋ポリエチレン等を使用するが、硬度が小
さく金属テープ突合部に相当するダイスの一部が摩耗し
てダイスの摩耗粉が溶接トーチ部で燃焼し、均一なパイ
プ溶接が困難である。(2)成形ダイスは摩耗するの
で、寿命が短く、成形ダイス交換作業に手間がかかる。
(3)成形ダイス材質に超硬、焼入鋼を使用すると寿命
は長くなるが、成形金属パイプ表面に摩擦傷が発生す
る。(4)安定した製造作業が困難である。(5)成形
ダイスの内径は固定であるため、成形した金属パイプの
外径と成形ダイス内径とのギャップ調整ができない。
(6)金属テープ突合部が最終段成形ダイスの内径と成
形金属パイプの外径とが適正な関係にないと、第5図
(イ),(ロ)に示されているような形状になる。即ち
成形金属パイプ4の突合せ部aに間隙が発生する。

み形回転ロール11は摩耗がないので傷が発生せず、超硬
ロール、焼入ロールが使用できるので寿命が大となって
働く。
