Embossed stainless steel sheet obtained by each of the above conventional techniques,
The colored stainless steel plate and the polished stainless steel plate each had a beautiful surface. However, these conventional decorative stainless steel sheets each have only a monochromatic color or, in the case of a color pattern, a surface texture such as a flat plate, and have the drawback of being monotonous. In addition, the stainless steel sheet colored on the flat plate has a drawback that many fine scratches are generated during long-term use and the color pattern becomes unclear.

Further, in JP-A-61-119680, in a metal plate having a concave portion and a convex portion formed by embossing on the surface of a metal plate which has been subjected to a bright treatment, corrosion processing is applied only to the concave portion. Disclosed is a dark metallic white exterior plate, and a metallic exterior plate and a manufacturing method thereof, characterized in that a bright surface of the metal material is left on the convex surface portion and a coating film is formed on the surface of the metal plate with a highly transparent paint. However, in this metal exterior plate, the color of the concave part is dark white and the convex part remains the bright surface of the metal material. Therefore, when the metal material is a stainless steel plate, it is a substantially monochromatic shade. Since it is a steel sheet that only has the following, it has a drawback that it is monotonous and poor in design, and that the convex portion is coated with a highly transparent coating on its surface, so it is smooth and easily scratched. there were.

As a result of various studies to solve the above problems, the inventors of the present invention first used an aqueous mixed solution of sulfuric acid and chromic acid or chromate for an embossed stainless steel strip rolled by a work roll having an uneven roll surface. By the chemical coloring method described above, the whole is uniformly colored to a desired color, and then the colored coating on the end face of the convex portion is ground and removed by polishing, and the desired color and the metallic color of the stainless steel ground surface are ground. The color pattern is expressed in conformity with the embossed pattern of embossing, and it becomes a stainless steel plate that is rich in decorativeness and is beautiful, and the colored surface is not easily scratched, and this is made into a desired color by the chemical coloring method. The present invention has been completed by finding that it can be extremely easily manufactured by continuously polishing an embossed stainless steel strip which is uniformly colored throughout.

In the drawings, reference numeral 1 denotes the stainless steel plate of the present invention, which has an uneven pattern by embossing on at least one surface as shown in FIGS. The convex end surface 2a of the convex portion 2 has a polished surface and has a metallic color of stainless steel, and the surfaces other than the convex end surface 2a, that is, the side peripheral surface of the convex portion 2 and the convex portion 3 The surface of is colored with a colored coating 4 which is an oxide coating formed by a chemical coloring method using a mixed aqueous solution of sulfuric acid and chromic acid or chromate. On the periphery of the convex end face 2a, there is a fifth
Although the end surface 4a of the colored film 4 may be present as schematically shown in an enlarged scale in the figure, the thickness thereof is very thin, about 0.1 to 0.3 μmm, while the polishing roughness Rz of the polishing surface of the convex end surface 2a is Since the thickness is 1 to 6 μm (for example, about 2 μm), the colored coating film is disturbed at the peripheral edge corners of the convex end surface 2a and does not exist as a uniform color, and practically no coloring is observed. The stainless steel plate 1 according to the present invention has an unevenness difference of 4 to 4 due to embossing.
The uneven pattern of 45 μm may be provided on only one side of the stainless steel plate as shown in FIG. 2, or may be provided on both sides as shown in FIG. These can be used depending on whether the application requires a beautiful decoration on one side or on both sides. The stainless steel sheet 1 of the present invention shown in FIG. 6 as an example with actual dimensions is very beautiful because the black portion is the concave portion 3 and the white portion is the convex portion 2. In the present invention, the metallic color of the stainless steel material is defined as one kind of color in accordance with the popular idea in the design.

First, the embossed stainless steel strip 5 which is embossed by a work roll having an uneven roll surface is prepared as a raw material. If it is not in stock, it may be made from stainless steel strip in each case by the known method. At the material stage, the depth of the concave and convex pattern 3 formed by emboss rolling is
Considering the reduction due to polishing performed later, it is at least 5 μm or more, more preferably 15 μm or more and 50 μm or more.
m or less. This upper limit is a normal embossing depth that can be used continuously even if the expensive and delicate embossing roll is slightly worn, and if the embossing depth exceeds this upper limit, embossing is performed by emboss rolling performed by heavy reduction. This is because the abrasion of the roll is so severe that the embossed pattern on the surface of the embossed stainless steel strip 5 that is the material is likely to be blurred and a clear contour cannot be obtained, which is not preferable.

This embossed stainless steel strip 5 is unwound from the coil form as shown in FIG. 4, and the known chemical coloring method [the stainless steel strip is immersed in a mixed aqueous solution (oxidation solution) of sulfuric acid and chromic acid or chromate salt). Then, light interference occurs between the surface of the film (oxide film, that is, a colored film) mainly composed of chromium oxide formed on the surface of the steel strip and the interface between the film and the steel strip substrate, and the immersion conditions ( Method of coloring by changing the color depending on temperature, concentration, time, etc.) so as to develop various colors], and pass through a continuous coloring device 6 (coloring step) including a coloring tank, The entire concave portion 3 is colored with a desired color selected from a plurality of colored coatings which are oxide coatings to form a colored stainless steel strip 5 ', which is wound around a coil. The colored stainless steel strip 5 ′ thus obtained was unwound from the coil as shown in FIG. 4 and passed through a continuous polishing machine 7 (polishing process) using a polishing belt, and as shown in FIG. The colored coating 4'is polished. This polishing amount is 0.1 which is the film thickness of the colored coating 4'of the colored stainless steel strip 5 '.
About 1 μm is sufficient to completely remove ~ 0.3 μm, but when the embossing depth of the colored stainless steel strip 5 ′ is deep, the end face of the convex portion 2 is flat due to the metal flow during embossing rolling. Since it is necessary to remove up to about 5 μm to clarify the contour surface of the convex end face 2a after polishing, the unevenness due to the embossing of 5 to 50 μm is 4 to 45 μm.
It becomes uneven by embossing m. By this polishing, the colored coating 4'formed on the end face of the convex portion 2 is removed together with some non-oxidized portions, and a new convex end face 2a is formed there to give a polishing roughness of Rz 1 to 6 microns. By presenting the polished surface of, the metallic color of the stainless steel material is expressed. Such a process can be continuously performed in each of the coloring process and the polishing process. Although both processes are separated in FIG. 4, it is also possible to adjust the plate passing speed of both processes in the same manner so that continuous plate passing can be performed consistently.

In the embossed stainless steel sheet 1 with a colored pattern according to the present invention, the convex end surface 2a of the uneven pattern having the unevenness due to embossing has the metallic color of the stainless steel ground surface, and the other surface Due to the coloring, the color pattern consisting of the metallic color of this stainless steel and the desired colored color is expressed in conformity with the concavo-convex pattern, which is very decorative and beautiful. Not only that, since the colored surface is recessed from the convex end surface 2a, it is possible to maintain the sharpness of the desired color that is colored easily without being scratched for a long period of time, on the other hand, Even if the polishing surface is scratched, it can be said that it is a polishing effect rather than scratching. Therefore, it is hard to scratch and the beauty of the color pattern can be maintained for a long time.
