8は硬化の終了した磁気記録媒体4を冷却部9により冷
却しながらスリットするスリッターである。10はスリッ
トの終了した磁気記録媒体4を巻取る巻取り部である。
以上の構成により磁気記録媒体4は、支持体上に磁性材
料を塗布した後、乾燥・表面処理・硬化・スリットと連
続的に移動し、処理・加工されることとなる。従って同
一支持体上の処理・加工が均一となり、特性のバラツキ
はなくなることとなる。また一旦巻取っていた場合に比
べて連続生産により工程間のロスタイムがなくなり大幅
なコストダウンに連がるものである。
