Abstract

Se pretende proporcionar un metodo capaz de disminuir una concentracion de acido formico en un producto de acido acetico mediante un enfoque simple; el metodo para producir acido acetico, de acuerdo con la presente invencion comprende por lo menos un paso seleccionado de un paso que satisface las siguientes condiciones de operacion (i) y un paso que satisface las siguientes condiciones de operacion (ii) en un procedimiento de produccion de acido acetico: (i) condiciones de operacion que involucren una presion parcial de hidrogeno de menos de 500 kPa (presion absoluta), una presion parcial de dioxido de carbono de menos de 70 kPa (presion absoluta) y una temperatura de operacion de mas de 175°C; y (ii) condiciones de operacion que involucren una presion parcial de hidrogeno de no mas de 5 kPa (presion absoluta), una presion parcial de dioxido de carbono de menos de 20 kPa (presion absoluta) y una temperatura de operacion de mas de 100°C.
