Abstract
Se expone una composicion de fosfuro de metal para generar una mezcla de fosfino y gas(es) diluyente(es), presentada lista para su utilizacion en un aparato o proceso de hidrolisis en la forma de un material de fosfuro de metal de fluidez libre compuesto por partículas sueltas de dicho fosfuro metálico esencialmente exentas de polvo, agentes retardantes de hidrolisis y sustancias hidrofobicas en la forma de revestimientos o aditivos hidrofobizantes. En uso, el fosfuro metálico hidrolizable, de preferencia fosfuro de magnesio, es liberado directamente dentro de agua líquida, en una atmosfera de gas inerte ante el fosfino. La mezcla generada de fosfino y gas portador inerte, tal como, por ejemplo, CO2, es utilizada como tal o es diluida en una cámara para mezcla de gases con aire, hasta alcanzar una concentracion inferior al límite de ignicion antes de que se lo emplee en fumigacion. La composicion de fosfuro de metal es fabricada haciendo reaccionar un metal, seleccionado del grupo consistente en aluminio, calcio y magnesio, dividido finamente, con un fosforo amarillo en una atmosfera de gas inerte y en presencia de un catalizador. Por toda la tanda de reaccion y durante la totalidad del proceso, una vez que ha comenzado la reaccion, la temperatura es mantenida dentro del intervalo de 350 a 550 degree C. El fosfuro de metal es removido como un material en partículas de fluidez libre y es envasado en un recipiente expendedor hermético a gases, listo para su utilizacion en la generacion de fosfina en tal condicion de fluidez libre, esencialmente exento de polvo de fosfuro metálico, de agentes retardadores de la hidrolisis y de sustancias hidrofobas en forma de revestimientos o aditivos hidrofobizantes.
