Abstract

<pre>This invention presents a new composition for the treatment of periodontitis, in particular linked to paropathogenic bacteria isolated from Moroccan patients. The composition, based on Moroccan essential oil extracted from Origanum vulgare, has antibacterial and cytotoxic properties. The method includes essential oil extraction, chromatographic analysis, antibacterial tests, and a periodontal bacteria identification process. The invention lies in the specific use of essential oils at concentrations determined by antibiogram tests, offering a natural alternative to conventional treatments. Verification of viability in a human monocytic cell line THP-1 (The human monocytic cell line) guarantees their safety. This advance opens clinical perspectives for dentistry, offering an effective, natural and alternative solution to improve oral health.</pre>
