Homogeny is the bad actor’s best friend and with only a quarter of the cyber workforce representing minorities, women and neurodiversity, CyberHire, NFAR Cyber, Women in Cyber Girl Scouts Workshops, Haiku Games That Train and partnerships with Able-Disabled Advocacy, Raices Cyber, US Valor, JIT For Foster Youth and more engage underrepresented populations and increase diversity and inclusivity in the cyber talent pipeline.
CyberHire is a partnership with the San Diego Workforce Partnership and San Diego Regional EDC to bridge the gap between education and employment by aligning talent supply chains to dynamic business needs in the region. Participants, primarily low-income and underserved job seekers, receive job-readiness support, subsidized cybersecurity certification and credential costs required by the industry, and access to paid internship opportunities and placement services through our network of employers. In two years, we trained over 200 participants and helped them earn 122 industry-recognized certifications. And, we helped place 53 and counting participants in IT support or cybersecurity internships or jobs.
CCOE helps create innovative workforce development resources like Haiku Games That Train, Journeys Cyber Career Map and Link2Cyber events. Our Career Center connects the global cyber workforce, students and veterans with San Diego job opportunities, training and career pathways.
Facilitates collaboration between the region’s cyber industry, academia, local government, utilities, transportation, law enforcement and military to create a more secure cyber environment and position San Diego as a leader in collaborative cyber innovation, including the San Diego Regional Cyber Lab, Small Business Cybersecurity Awareness Program and San Diego Cyber Clinic Consortium.
Biennial economic impact and workforce studies deliver data, analysis and recommendations to policymakers, government, educational institutions, businesses and talent to encourage regional economic and workforce development.
Convene U.S. and international business and government leaders with San Diego’s cyber ecosystem to share best practices, encourage collaboration and attract business, investment and talent to the region.
Bring together San Diego’s cyber leaders with global experts and law enforcement to educate the region’s key sectors and further the cybersecurity industry, including the FBI Executive Briefing Series.
Source industry solutions to defense and infrastructure-championed challenges and create an open dialog between the cyber industry, innovation sectors, academia and the government allowing for real-time problem solving and quick mobilization of San Diego’s cyber cluster.
