I have no interest in doing this officially because I have next to no experience with TTRPGs, but there have actually been multiple fan projects aiming to adapt SLARPG into a TTRPG framework. I don’t know off the top of my head if any of that stuff has been released yet, though, so if anyone has links feel free to share them in the comments
Hey there! So SLARPG was done a few years ago but are there any plans to have some sort of continuation of the story? Even as a smart comic or oneshot of some sorts (tho another game would be EPIC considering how good the first one was 💜)
We would like to do more games someday to continue the story, and I have a lot of ideas, though we’re not working on a sequel at the moment.
Right now we’re early in preproduction on an unrelated game in a different setting, though I think people who liked SLARPG will probably still like this new game. I’m also in the early stages of working on a major update for SLARPG that will add some amount of new content along with a hard mode, but that won’t be a continuation of the story past the ending of the game, just some small new things to see and find along the way for returning players.

The ending of slarpg hit me so hard after playing it to the end a few months ago or so that I COMPLETELY FORGAT I was supposed to check your blogs out and ask questions!
BUT I REMEMBERED NOW AND UHM. Have you already shared about Javis' designs construction? Do you have references?
I have since doing this drawing realized that his tapes don't gome from the bottom side but they actually kind of make sense but I had this whole big discussion with the girl who got me into slarpg on how Javis looks under the cloak. Is there like a knot or are they just loosely intertwined there? Or something else?
And do you have all the overworld sprite files for the characters somewhere? I checked sprite source but I believe they largely just have the close shots of when a character talks and then the beastiary, but as an artist the overworld aprotes would help me a lot in creating model turnarounds for myself that are more canonical.[Cuz I like canonical!]
I always draw bodies before I draw clothes to flesh things out so it'd help a lot to know what's happening with this guy! Sorry to be the guy to ask what's under them pants pfft
Also do you prefer questions like this on this blog or your personal blog? I'm probably going to become a very reoccuring little annoying fly that just buzzes around and asks a lot if that's cool. I love the world you built so much.
I don’t have good reference material for Javis’s body just because I was the only one who ever had to draw him for the game and I never had to draw him without his poncho, but I mean you pretty much got it down in the colored sketch. I’d imagine there’s no knot, the two tape ribbons just kind of cross over each other once or twice. I’m not sure if I’d decided if the arms were part of his main body or built into the poncho.
(I think this is the first time anyone’s ever drawn him nude lmao)
Only detail I’d do different is where the tape comes out. You can see on his north-facing sprite it comes out from underneath the flap on the top, like on a real VHS cassette.
The Spriters Resource does have pretty much all of the character sprites, I believe? They’re just lumped into one archive for the party members and another for all the NPCs. But you can also browse the sprite sheets by going to the /Graphics/Characters folder in the game’s install directory, they’re all just sitting there as PNG files.
Anyway I usually get most SLARPG-related questions on my main (@ponett), but feel free to send them in on either blog!

Hi! Sorry you’re encountering this issue. This is an error with the “global” save file, which doesn’t affect anything particularly important. Try going into the game’s install folder and replacing your global.rvdata2 file with this one.

I also constantly have part of my name misspelled into things that blatantly do not make phonetical sense because throwing a random R in gives people a slightly more common name word, so I've never even thought about the joke getting people to overthink the pronunciation lol (this also happens to several of my family members with not just the shared name but also given names when it just makes no sense for someone to hear the name they repeat back beyond mental autocorrect)
I sympathize with your name problems lol. Schroeder is a somewhat common last name in the US and even the name of a Peanuts character, and yet I have had so many people pronounce it as Shray-der in my life.

how is Javis pronounced??? I've always thought it was pronounced "Jay Viss" (like mavis) but like, is it "Jah Viss" (like how rayman says car in that one Rayman TV show) or "Jah Viz" (like vision) ????? it's not bothered me cause my British accent but like, when I thought of his name in an American accent, Jah Vis probably sounds way closer to Jar Vis which would make the "there's no R, it's Javis" joke make way more sense.
You had it right the first time. It’s pronounced JAY-viss, rhyming with Mavis or Davis. The bit about his name not being Jarvis was a little in-joke reference to all the times I’d seen people make that typo when discussing SLARPG’s predecessor project online, most likely due to autocorrect. But now that joke just makes people overthink the pronunciation. Nonzero chance I am going to change the line in an update so this stops happening lol
