This is a scene from Chapter 17, but as you’ve probably already noticed, it’s more than just a scene from Viktor’s dream, and I plan to use it once again later on.

Despite the complexity of the plot and the number of storylines, Viktor's arc is the most important for me in this fic, because it's not just a confrontation with the Abyss. It's about facing your dark side, your fears, about how hard it can be sometimes, and how close you come to failure before you defeat them. It’s about letting your fears pass through you and after that stepping out pure on the other side. It’s about the fact that there is hope and light even in the darkest times, even when it seems like there will be no dawn and everything you do is in vain. This is about how to surface if you've dived too deep.
