BLIK, a Polish mobile payment system developed by Polish Payment Standard, is expanding its presence in the eurozone. Following the launch of BLIK payments in Slovakia in 2024, customers of Polish banks are now gaining access to thousands of e-commerce stores operating in that country. Pilot transactions carried out in March confirmed the readiness of the solution, and the friends & family testing phase begins in early April. This marks an important step in building BLIK payments in Europe – based on interoperability between markets and system participants. The next stage, planned for the end of 2026, will extend the solution to users of Slovak banks shopping in Polish e-commerce. Ultimately, all banks in the eurozone that implement BLIK will gain access to the network of e-commerce merchants operating in Poland.
In 2025, BLIK users completed a total of 2.9 bn transactions worth PLN 441.5 bn (EUR 104.9 bn). The fourth quarter was a key contributor to the annual result, generating approximately 27% of the total yearly volume. In terms of the number of operations, e-commerce remains the strongest channel, traditionally recording the highest sales peaks at the end of the year. The growing popularity of all services has resulted in a cumulative total of 10 bn transactions worth PLN 1.4 tn (EUR 332.5 bn) since the system’s launch. BLIK has also continued to expand its active customer base – over the past 12 months, more than 2 m new users joined the system, bringing the number of active accounts to 20.7 m at the end of December.
The first pilot euro transfer from the Spanish payment system Bizum to a phone number enabled for receiving BLIK transfers at PKO Bank Polski has just been completed. This marks another step toward full interoperability between national mobile payment systems.

The rollout delivers a future-proof, locally relevant solution that seamlessly connects in-store and online commerce, enabling scale across sectors and European markets.
Black Weekend has permanently established itself as one of the biggest shopping events in Poland. During this period, consumers particularly value the speed and security of payments, which is why they eagerly choose BLIK – both online and in-store. This year, between Friday, 28 November and Monday, 1 December BLIK users completed nearly 30 m transactions with a total value of almost 5 bn PLN.
