IBMの研究者は20日付けの科学雑誌Natureに，この量子コンピュータで実行した計算の詳細を掲載する。この計算は，AT&Tの研究者であるPeter Shor氏が1994年に考案した因数処理のためのアルゴリズム，「Shor's Algorithm」を実証する形で行われた。
