(Women's International Squash Players Assocation) tour stop. Come out
and watch some of the top women's players in the world compete!
You're formally invited to the PSRA's annual awards banquet on
Saturday, May 11, 2002, at the Pittsburgh Golf Club. This year, top ranked
international squash pros Graham Ryding and Chris Walker will exhibit their
skills on the club's newly built international courts beginning at 5:30 PM.
There is no charge for the exhibition.
Mini-clinics will be held between 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM, and a cash bar will
be available from 5:30 PM through dinner in the lounge adjacent to the
squash courts. Awards and trophies earned for league or tournament success
during the last year will be handed out immediately following the exhibition
and just before the annual squash association dinner.

Danforth (R) were finalists in the Open Division of the Buffalo
Invitational Squash Tournament played Nov. 17-19 at the Buffalo Tennis
and Squash Club. This tournament is the oldest invitational doubles
tournament in North America and pulls in consistently strong draws.
Playing as a team for the first time in this tournmament, Fisher and
W. Danforth nevertheless were the No. 3 seed. After facing two
extremely difficult tests in two rounds on Saturday, they lost in the
finals to former Denver pro-turned Buffalo entreprenuer Rick Smith (L)
and his partner, from Denver, G. Watts Isnaim (R). Other Pittsburgh
contenders were Raja Mahidhara (L) and Taylor
Abbott (R), who made it to the quarterfinals.
Twelf teams (24 players) competed in this tournament.
Final: Taylor Abbett and Raja Mahedhara over
Mike Foster and Kevin Lynch, 3-2
Semifinal: Abbett/Mahedhara over Charlie Stewart and Gary Gentile, 3-2
Semifinal: Foster/Lynch over Richard Danforth and Wall Danforth, 3-2
Consolation winners were David O'Loughlin and Richard Fisher, finalists were
John Iole and Mike Donohue.
