My current professional activities and interests focus on informatics and education.
- I am a lecturer in informatics at the Department of Teacher Training of the Katholieke Hogeschool Leuven (KHL).
I prepare students for teaching information technology (IT) and informatics in secondary school. I am responsible for an introductory overview course on IT and informatics, several programming courses, a seminar series on didactics and a seminar series on ethical and social issues of IT. I am also involved in policy making at the divisional and departmental levels.
Finally, together with Gerben Dierick, lecturer in informatics at the Rega Department of the KHL, I teach a course on ethical and social issues in information technology in the KHL International Programme for Erasmus Students.
- I am a part-time free collaborator at the Department of Computer Science of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KULeuven), where I mainly work with Prof. dr. Henk Olivié, responsible for the Academic Teacher Training in Informatics.
- I like to think, talk and write on IT, informatics, ethics and education. A list of my publications on those topics can be found here (in Dutch).
I also wrote "Het elfde gebod", a book about the main ethical and social issues connected to information technology.
More info about this book can be found here.
