Hi! I'm Olive! I use she/they pronouns and am an independent game developer and neuroscientist.

I grew up on a farm in the Columbia River Gorge, graduated from Reed college with an undergraduate degree in biology (with a thesis on the neuroscience of frog mating calls), and now reside in Portland, OR Oakland, CA Portland, OR.

I'm a self-taught programmer in the Blitzmax / Cerberus X family of languages — it's OK, they're pretty obscure, you probably haven't heard of them. I've since moved on to working primarily in Godot.

Crescent Loom is going to be my life's work. It's a marriage of my game dev and neuroscience backgrounds; you stitch together an underwater creature and bring it to life by weaving a biological nervous system. There's nothing else like it.

Aesthetic came after a whirlwind of a weekend of personal revelations, and was released coming out day 2019. I think it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever made.

Lancer Tactics started as me trying to figure out Godot and has spiralled wildly out of control. Kickstarted in 2023, early access here on itch, then a Steam release sometime in 2027.

Witchdice is an elegant online shared dice roller. An exercise in twining solid design with aesthetic self-indulgence.

Starship Rubicon is my first published game. Asteroids roguelike from back when FTL was blowing people's minds. A hidden gem.
