• "Crawling in my robes! These wounds will need a healer!", occasionally said by bards, is a reference to Linkin Park's "Crawling". The original lyrics are "Crawling in my skin, these wounds, they will not heal", which was then picked up by the web comic VGCats, which turned it into "Crawling in my robes! These wounds need elixir!" and finally was picked up by the then-fan translators of Elona.
• Numerous figurines strewn about the Little Garden are recognisable as mascots from other game franchises.

Gagu	Lovecraft (The Dream-Quest of Unknown gadath)	A hairy giant with 4 arms, a mouth located in the top of th head that splits vertically. They were exiled by Great Ones and live in the underground. They live in a city made of stone and worship thier fell god. They prefer eating Dreamers.
Silver Eyed Witch	Manga『CLAYMORE(クレイモア)』	Beings created by artificially transplanting 妖魔(devil?) to people.(Elona Wiki) They have no official name as a race, and the name Claymore comes from thier greatsword.
Black Angel	Manga『Rozen Maiden(ローゼンメイデン)』	A battle manga about human-like dolls. One of the doll, named Suigintou seemed to have inspired Black Angel. She is a villan and she insults main characters in a episode, which went viral in the internet.
Black Cat	Azteca Mythology	black jaguars. A horde of them appeared in the first era of the sun governed by Tezcatlipoca(Black) and devoured all the people.
Golem	『FINAL FANTASY VI』	An armor that uses magic to function.
Caladrius	Roman Mythology	Said to judge whether a king should live or die when the king is close to the verge of death. Just seeing a caladrius said to ease disease, and intaking its fece grants a person perennial youth and long life

Hot Guy	Masaki Sumitani's TV persona, "Hard Gay" (HG)	rebranded as "Hot Guy" sometime in 2021, along with his notable "Foooooooo!" catchphrase. Noa answered the question posted in the site that asks the reason why Hot Guy explodes in Elona, that HG in real life felt very explosive( provocative and passionate) for him. Elin followed his rebranding and changed the name from Hard Gay to Hot Guy.
Mifu innkeepers	『Wolf and Spice』	Mifu innkeepers have a striking resemblance to Holo the wise wolf, down to the little satchel of grain about her neck.
Mascot	『FINAL FANTASY』	They are a reference to the Moogles of the Final Fantasy series. They wear a similar costume and occasionally say "Cu..." then "...po", referencing the moogle quip of finishing sentences with "kupo"

Yog-Sothoth	Lovecraft Expo 2025 in Osaka	Resembles Myakumyaku, the official character of the expo 2025. Actually, it was named Myakumyaku at first, but got changed to Yog-Sothoth Its ability to turning allies(other monsters) into bombs come from a slang brightness of life (いのちの輝き) which is almost identical to the theme of the expo 2025 (いのち輝く). the slang means the way how an animal or human dies., especially a blasphemous or grotesque manner. The slang supposed to be originate in the board 5ch named as "生き物苦手" (dislike animals) that was deleted from 5ch because of repepitive and very sensational animal gore posted by people in the board.

Gaki	"bratt"	The backer who wished Gaki explains that Gaki is inspired by general conception of female brats and not a specific character. Female brat is メスガキ(Mesu Gaki) in Japanese. ガキ is written as 餓鬼(means hungry Oni) in kanji, but Gaki in Elin is written as 牙姫, which means Fang Princess. She was a red-skinned strong Oni in the past, but after getting "corrected" by some adventure, her horn is broken, skin has tarnished and turned olive and she is no longer as powerful as before. Her Curse, that prohibits her from speaking anything other than "weakling" is inflicted by Lulwy for 50% punishment and 50% trolling.
