NEWS UPDATE April 2nd 2026:
Hello, all.
I just wanted to jump in here quickly and give an update on everything that's going on in life. Right now, I've been unemployed since November last year. My wife is thankfully working but finances are very tight. With all the awful news coming from America, Canada, and the UK, the empathy we feel for the entire world going through this collapse is really having an effect on our mental health even as we live life and try to touch grass. My wife is very tired (with both working and finishing her second last year of school), and two days ago, I had a panic attack just simply trying to apply for a job.
My plan for right now is to take a step back and decide what to do depending on the collective future. What do we do with the walls caving in around all of us? How do we keep being creative while the world shifts like it did in 2020? What do we have to sacrifice and what do we have to prioritize? My wife and I have been "prepping" for what might go down in the next few months, but we only have supplies to hold out for so long thanks to lack of money and my own issues with disability. It's going to be a rough 2026, not just because of everyone losing or having trouble finding employment, but this overall reality might break some people, including myself. I want to put priority on our mental health and on what we can do to get through this. If that means going into a long art haitus or fighting to stay alive, then so be it. For now, before I release anything further or call it quits, I have to keep an eye out and stay alert.
For those with privilege or enough to get through the storm, keep going. Don't stop. In the words of one of Tony Stark's mentors: Don't waste your life.
