I have been preparing an installation for this Saturday (basically tomorrow), now have arrived at my destination, set up new wifi connection and since then: only dysfunctionality, hitherto unseen.

Back in my studio everything worked like a charm. Always.

Numerous problems, in order of occurence:

This is a serious issue for me and I need to solve it within 12 hours therwise I am having to call the whole thing off officially.

So, I am able to export now but the rnbo patch does not seem to be working (serial input has no effect) and I cannot establish a connection to the web interface or any related address.

I am totally stuck now and have zero idea how to proceed. If anyone can point me at direct or specific ressources I would appreciate that.

i am currently trying to update a patch of mine to 64 bit since i need more memory. and i am very badly missing the jit.freenect.grab external which only runs in 32 bit.

i asked the programmer, jean marc pelletier, directly and this was his reply:

"Hi, sorry, I don’t have any time to dedicate to this project anymore… It’s open source, so if some enterprising soul (wink, wink) wants to have a stab at re-compiling, that would be great."

now... since i never compiled anything myself i am wondering: might there be any 'enterprising soul' out there who is working on this?

Ive been trying to do this for days but i cant get it right.

I have this soundscape type audio sample that really has no distinctive loop point like a drum loop would.

So far ive been using trapezoid in smallest amount like 0.001 and 0.999 but it still has this little stutter.

I was talking with ai and he keeps on recommending this method of crossfading same two grooves but god damn its hard to get it right and way too complicated. 

Ultimately I want to create some long sound scape ish sound using a small amount of sample..

I'm working on a reusable spectral analysis framework in RNBO that will eventually become the frontend of a realtime adaptive DSP processor based on psychoacoustic descriptors (roughness, spectral centroid, spread, flux, peak detection, etc.).

The idea is to compute the STFT only once and then share the spectral data among multiple analysis modules.

At the moment I'm trying to build what I call a SpectralFrame, i.e. a memory structure containing the magnitude spectrum of the current FFT frame.

My intended processing chain is approximately:

Audio input → fftstream~ → real / Imaginary coefficients → magnitude (sqrt(real² + imag²)) → SpectralFrame (Data) → feature extraction modules

 (not phase), since all the first features I plan to implement only require spectral magnitude.

The third outlet ("ramp") from fftstream~ is used as the write index.

Ultimately I'd like to build a modular spectral analysis library that can later be exported from RNBO (or even ported to Faust/C++), so I'm trying to choose the most robust architecture before implementing all the feature extraction modules.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Currently, composing gen~ algorithms from reusable abstractions requires working at the visual patcher level. It would be very useful to be able to invoke a gen abstraction as a function call from within a GenExpr.
