ok well i filled up my car with gas and got cat food for my cats so idk how this applies to me also the “don’t buy coffee anymore” thing is rlly annoying from ppl acting like buying coffee is the reason ppl r struggling to keep purchases under 20 dollars instead of capitalism inflating prices for shareholders to buy another five houses like. eventually yall gotta stop doing the “no more avacado toast!” thing to ppl bc there is no budgeting that is enough to outrun inflation

#why is your character turning it down because they're under 21 #do you think prawn cocktail is a cocktail #this lives in my brain rent-free constantly #the rest of the fic was so normal #and good enough that i'll still re-read it #but bro

• zhajhassa: #haha where's that post that was like someone describing someone eating a pomegranate but they ate it like an apple

• maycelium: #I'm a chef so I'm really used to people not accurately describing how to cook food #But I was surprisingly flabbergasted when someone was writing making a cake and was kneading it. Which uh #Not necessary for cake. It was interesting for sure but just bizarre

Random reminder that if you want your local Barnes & noble/books a million/mom & pop bookstore to carry queer books you should go to your aforementioned bookstore and ask them to order books for you. If they see that it sells they will get more, and it’s good for authors who might reach a new audience by having another store carry their books. Just saw someone say that they didn’t see any queer books at their local b&n so they’d only be ordering from amazon from now on, and so many comments were agreeing with them, saying that independent stores were the same, and while it’s true a lot of indie books are only available on Amazon, I promise you you have the power to make a positive impact at the bookstores you go to (and there are a lot of queer booksellers who would love to introduce you to their favorites!) And, if you are dead set on never entering a bookstore again, you should go to bookshop.org! Almost all of their proceeds go to supporting independent book stores.

I needed to complain about work, so I wrote a Murderbot fic titled Promotion. (4100 words)

Read it and laugh with me about how ridiculous the process is to get a promotion.
