Our mission

Our mission

We build platforms that increase the pace at which humanity can grow its collective intelligence. This includes knowledge sharing among humans (Quora) and collaboration among humans and all kinds of AI (Poe). By focusing at the platform level, we are not creating knowledge or intelligence ourselves, but instead we focus on the most leveraged place for impact: removing friction and unlocking the potential in what everyone else has already learned, created, or trained. The more we enable collaborative thinking between humans, and between humans and AI, the faster ideas will diffuse, the faster technology will advance, and the faster the economy will grow. Our ultimate goal is to accelerate the ability for humanity as a whole, along with all artificial intelligence, to share knowledge, create technology, and work together to solve problems.

Quora is a global knowledge sharing platform with hundreds of millions of monthly unique visitors, connecting writers who have knowledge across millions of topics with a global audience of readers who want to learn from their collective experience.

Poe aggregates access to the best models from many different AI companies in a single chat interface across all platforms, and enables creators to build and monetize applications that use these models.

In 2020, we adopted a remote‑first model to hire exceptional talent from around the world. Today, we continue to recruit across North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia (see full list here). To make this work well, we’ve intentionally designed how we operate, enabling us to stay fully remote even as many companies return to the office, either full time or in a hybrid model.


We rely on dedicated “coordination hours” to enable effective collaboration across time zones. Our daily coordination hours run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Of course, teammates work much more than these hours to deliver impact, but there is flexibility in when and how you get that work done. Whether you’re working from home, traveling, or making use of our Coworking Space Program, you’ll be part of a truly international community that values impact, teamwork, and the freedom to do challenging and meaningful work from wherever you can be the most productive.
